Hi Guys!
I've been an avid New Jersey Nets fan since 2002. I never really felt the need to register since I don't get to watch all the Nets games here in our country and I may not be able to contribute a lot. Our cable provider doesn't prioritize showing Nets games as they usually go for more popular teams like the Lakers, Bulls and Celtics.
I must admit that I started out just a casual NJ fan. I used to follow Jordan's vintage years when he singlehandedly beat Utah with "the shot". When he retired the NBA wasn't the same anymore.
However, when Kidd was traded to New Jersey and was able to turn around the team, I felt that this is what the league needs. When VC landed here, it made me more excited. VC & Kidd are 2 of my favorite players that time. Their respective stints are undoubtedly one of the most exciting and memorable moments I had being a Nets fan.
When NJ traded away Jason & Vince, I didn't care anymore since my loyalty was with the team and not the player. It's quite funny since I've never been to New Jersey or to the US. I guess once you've went through all the ups and downs and sticking it with your team throughout the years, your just hopeful that someday things will turn out well. Most of my friends are bandwagoners and pick the "in" teams like LA & Miami. They even belittled my precious Nets team when they went 12-70 last year.
But right now I felt that I should actively participate in this forum. Eventhough I don't get to watch my favorite team every day; I still have internet access at home and at work. I even access the "atdhe.net" website streming live Nets games on weekends. But with the crappy DSL speed in our country, it gets frustrating at times.
I very optimistic in this years NBA campaign. Amidst the putrid signings of Outlaw & Petro, I know that we can do better. I was one of those who jumped for joy when I witnessed Brook Lopez falling to us at 10. I was one of those who had a bad week when we drafted Wright over Granger. On the flipside, I though Sean Williams was going to be the next KMart and Marcus Williams as Kidd's successor. Good thing the 3rd Williams drafted looks promising enough to be excited about.
I agree that BLo is the only untouchable Net right now, but he isn't the player to build around. He needs a Superstar behind him. He is an extremely talented and effective 2nd option. If only we can land Chris Paul...
I hope I'll be able to stick around and interact with you guys. I definitely recognize each and evryone of you based on your previous posts. I was one of the guys who patiently reads Enetric's very long but sensible posts, and even surprised he went to hiatus for quite some time. Hats off to Moderators' Rich Rane & Jerseyjac for keeping the Knick trolls in check. The infamous Mikhaeljordan (may the nets force be with you), the very active Vincecarter4pres, veterans posters like Jeff1624, Preludepunk27, SpeedyG & Netsultimatefan63, trade fanatics' Ecuhus1981 & Trader joe, on and off posters like 60cent, Treiz & Rockice_8, and the unorthodox Demens. And the rest who I haven't mentioned...
Peace and God bless!!! Go Nets!!!
