Just in case Billy King reads this.
Im sure most of you agree giving up Favors is insane (he should be an untouchable to) and to throw in Harris and picks?
Now what about trading for a guy who's on the block that we can get without trading Harris or Favors.
Terrance Williams
Troy Murphy
Draft picks
For
Iggy
Don't need Melo if you got
Brook
Favors
Outlaw
Iggy
Harris
Thats a top 4 team in the East and title contenders.

You might be on to something if you fix the title.
Better yet:
Harris/Farmar
Iguodala/Morrow
Green/Outlaw
Favors/Humphries
Lopez/Petro
Any trade involving Rod Thorn scares me though....

EDIT: That ridiculous trade of Devin and Favors was just a rumor, don't sweat it. King himself laughed at it.

I think Favors is going to be good, and if the Nets had to trade him, I would prefer it to be for Chris Paul, who is just as big of a star as Anthony and fills a more important position. Of course, Chris Paul isn't begging for a trade like Anthony is, so that point may be moot.

i wouldn't give up the picks for Iggy and he would be our starting small forward if this went down.

At this point, with Melo giving us the cold shoulder and DEN dragging their feet, I'd keep Favors off the table and do a deal like
this one.Devin is off the a tremendous start, but I'd still rather move him than D-Fav. We can get by just fine with Augustin, Farmar, T-Will and Uzoh handling PG duties, IMO. Even if we got Birdman in return for Favors, he can't replace Derrick's upside.

There can only be one "official watch" thread in the Nets forum, and that belongs to Nenad Krstic.
But on a serious note...Igoudala?

Harris/Farmar
Morrow/Twitt
Iguodala/Outlaw
Favors/Humphries
Lopez/Petro
That frontcourt could be best the frontcourt in the league.
On the Iggy bandwagon, he comes at a good price, is a better defender, passer, and rebounder than Melo.

Well, they're nearly equal defensive rebounders, but Anthony has the edge in offensive rebounds and has the higher rebound percentage as well. All that, bar defensive rebounding, stems from Anthony being a better scoring offensive player, though.

Since when is $12M, $13M, $14M, and $15M per year considered a "good price" for someone who is best suited as a #3 player on a championship caliber team?

I thought he meant in terms of assets that the Nets would need to trade for him. I could be wrong, however.

The fact that you have to give up assets AND pay him that ridiculous contract he isn't worth should give him even more negative value, no?

Negative value? I wouldn't say that, but his value should be the lowest out of any player that has his level of talent due to that contract, that's for sure.

Nope you are correct, but his salary isn't all that bad either for his production.
Speedy, AI earns his paycheck, one of the most underrated players in the league.
You'd rather give up Favors and give no defense Melo a max?

Wait, you'd seriously, given the same amount of compensation, rather have Igoudala over Carmelo?

Want me to speak in spanish? You might understand me, tagalog and spanish have similar words.
I'm asking you, do you want to give up that many assets for a player like Melo, when we can give less for Iggy.

What exactly would be the point of getting Iggy? I'd rather just keep Murphy and let him expire than do that.

I'd rather not do either. I've been vocal about my disdain for King's supposed (ridiculous) offer of Harris + Favors + picks for Carmelo. That is waaaay too much to give up to a team who has no actual leverage to be asking for that kind of compensation.
And while Harris + Favors + picks for Carmelo makes me cringe, and trading twill + a pick for Igoudala and his contract (especially in light of the uncertainty with the CBA) makes me cringe just as much, if not more.

I'll pass on Igoudala and Melo. I like the chemistry this team has. The youth and talent is also factor. We're not contending anytime soon so it's pointless to bring in a Melo. We should rebuild "organically".
