Official Game Thread #5: Nets vs Magic

Game's about to start and no game thread. So I decided to make my very first game thread...Actually my very first thread on realgm period. May or may not be my last depending on how this game goes.

If I ever make a next one I'll try and be more creative though like our old friend mikhail(RIP).

Anyways, I hope Lopez makes his 20 foot jumpers in this game because he aint getting much in the post against Howard.

How did they not call that foul on Dwight? He landed on Lopez mid-shot...

Yep I thought that was a foul as well. I think the officials let it go because that would have sent Dwight to the bench with his 2nd. Regardless, Lopez might as well not be out there because the man just can't play against Dwight (Lopez 0-5 so far).

Dwight's not only stronger, but he's faster with that freakish athleticism, not much Lopez can do against him.

Sorry I dont know much about your team but.. is Big Sexy (Humphries) your starting PF? He is playing very well .

He's our 3rd string PF behind Murphy and Favors...but he still gets minutes with Murphy coming back from injury.

Outlaw has no basketball IQ at all...it's just disgusting to watch him play.

He has no awareness of anything going on.

You guys notice how Howard actually has to put moves and try to going around Humph rather then just pushing him out of the way like he is doing to that little boy you called the 2nd best center in some imaginary league.

Dwight has him mentally. It sucks because I always see Brook vs Dwight as a measuring stick to see how much Brook has improved because Brook has always struggles playing against Dwight so far in his career.

Someone please post that block from Favors on Howard on youtube.

Lopez has been dominated the entire game, and Howard has been destroying us.....yet we are somehow leading by 3

T-Will and Outlaw are each 3/3 from 3

Humphries kept us in the game early in the 2nd.

Our hot 3pt shooting and some iffy D by the Magic kept us in this. Lopez needs to man up and come out in the 2nd qtr playing his game...He's letting Howard intimidate him. I couldn't believe he didn't go up strong and try to dunk the ball when he got it right under the basket.

He stayed there for 2 seconds then literally threw up a shot, a 7 footer right under the basket shouldn't...All because Howard was right there.I liked that Avery took him out after that play..If he's gonna be that soft, then he might as well ride the bench. I'm not saying he has to has a good game against Howard but he seriously shouldn't be playing that soft and scared.

Lopez gets most of his points by overpowering players around the rim and faking them into fouls. He can't overpower Howard nor is he going to get any calls against him.

This is where the difference in athleticism between the top tier players and Lopez shows.

Which is actualy why I think tamar slay would be a grate pickup.

I'm thinking the same thing. Damage has already been done. He's missing easy ones at the basket. Howard has him psyched out. He might as well not be in there.
