He started 0 and 13 against the Magic. It was pretty rough to watch. Dwight was able to D up on him without fouling, which frustrated Brook. He couldn't move him or shoot over him and ended up taking a whole bunch of leaners. Brook usually leans enough at it is, so you have to imagine him taking shots while floating horizontally 5ft off the ground.

Disgusting, and the 5.7 rebounds is also just as bad. He'll more than likely raise his fg% to the 47-52% range. Not too sure about his reboudning. He's not even making an effort to go after them, hell he's not in the picture most of the time. That's something Avery's gonna have to get on him for...No doubt he looks a lot weaker out there this season but that shouldn't affect his effort level.

His play this year has been up and down. On one hand, he seems to have a lot more effective low post moves, but on the other hand he doesn't so well against the stronger guys and he likes to settle for that 18 foot jumper. On top of that his rebounding, defense, and passing out of double teams has been atrocious. I don't know what's up with him. Is it the mono?

Let's not get too carried away here as it's clear Brook can explode with 30 points per game. I wouldn't worry too much on his fg percentage as there's no one else on the team to take the mid range jumper consistently. I'm more concerned with the rebounding numbers per 36 minutes those rebounds are not good. If the net were to get carmelo they would be a 50 55 win team. Without Carmelo they are a 25 win team. That's how much offensive fire power the nets are missing on the consistent basis outside harris and brook. The floor general avery johnson demands his players work on d; his no nonsense no bs negotiations approach is not going to fly with lopez who is lazy on d.

WTF brook?

brook got owned by howard the other night! i understand that howard is the best in the game right now, but even when shaq used to dominate ,duncan used to go hard against him.

Kris Humphries was playing better. It looked to me like Brook was a little nervous going up against Howard and settled for jump shots alot of the time. Maybe we should look at resigning Boone. If hes playing in China im gonna miss seeing his jet black BMW at Qdoba....

You want Boone back so that he can shoot 29% from the free throw line again? Thanks but I'll pass...

That Orlando game wasn't as embarrassing as the Heat game. He looked like a b*tch for the last three quarters. Very disappointing. Hope he learns his lesson.

Yeah, I'm done defending Brook. His play the last few games has been completely embarrassing.

Really, this is what I've been talking about in the "Pick the Superstar" thread. Lopez doesn't want to be the #1 option. He doesn't look like it, doesn't behave like it, and doesn't even talk like it. Remember that comment when a reporter asked him on media day whether or not he envisions himself as the best C in the league one day? He said he wasn't even sure he's the best Lopez! Humility is one thing, but you can't take your team anywhere until you're ready to set a VERY high standard for your own excellence, competitiveness and motor.

B-Lo can be Brad Daugherty, even a rich-man's version, but he will never be a go-to guy on a good team. Not Duncan, not even Gasol (who took MEM to several postseasons). It's just not in his DNA. I've said it before, this nucleus' only hope of becoming a contender is Favors blossoming into an alpha dog. I think he can, but we can only hope.

Favors doesn't seem to have the personality for it either.

As for Brook....i told you so.

favors is only 19! he has the competitive fire burning in him that will make him dominate, brook on the other hand has to stop reading comic books and get gangta on (edited)

No form of ethnic/racial slurs will be posted here, whether meant in good spirit or not.

Seriously, some people forget why some players currently aren't in the NBA. He was as skilled offensively as Twin with a worse FT% and wasn't worth keeping for his defense alone.

He was as skilled offensively as Jason Collins?? Wrong.. I'll give you the FT% (even though Collins got progressively worse in tht department) but Boone is easily the better offensive player. Boone could actually dunk and score off of put backs.. Collins not so much. Besides, Boone was infinitely the better rebounder, I'd love to have him back on this team.

On a serious note, I'm surprised no one signed Boone.

Alright, I admit I went way too far as the offensive comparison, but the guy became a complete liability. As good as Twin boxed out for Kidd to start the break (which he was horrendous after that summer he lost all that weight), Boone's rebounds were fairly easy in a sense that a lot of them were "same team" type rebounds or took one or two a game from the other big (kind of what Humphries currently does and I'm not saying all of their rebounds come that way). It also felt most that most offensive rebounds he took would lead to a foul, which wouldn't be such a horrid thing if he did at least below average at the stripe or if he had amazing strength to go back up with it for a jam. With no offensive game developing and no shutdown defense along with the hack-a-Boone games, it would take a lot for anyone to tell me we need to take him back (cutting Petro).

Boone was a really good rebounder and solid defender, but he had hands of stone, couldn't finish and may have literally been one of the worst frow shooters in league history.

What the hell is wrong with Brooke's production this season. Last season he had nice stats yet the team lost badly. The team is now winning when he is a non factor and not the first option??

In the 12 games we won last season, brook produced more than his season average.
