Favors Starting Soon!

The season isn't looking too great but there is one glimmer of good news. Derrick Favors will be starting soon. Here is a clip of a NYPost news article from today. Read the full article:

Outlaw signed signed for $35 million over five years in the off-season but "We can't really think about the public spin of Travis Outlaw going to the bench." Johnson said.
Outlaw understood the move.
"We are on a losing streak so we definitely have to switch some things up," Outlaw said.
Johnson said the move is not permanent.
"I'm going to continue to search," Johnson said.
James on starting: "My mindset has always been the same. Just be a dog out there, whatever I've got to do to help my team win. I look around the league at the guys that got drafted in my class and 90 percent of them are not even playing so it's just a blessing to dress up, let alone play five or three minutes."
And Favors is the next rookie who will get a starting nod. And it's coming soon, Johnson said.
"My goal was to start him at the 41st game. It's going to come a whole lot sooner than 41," Johnson said. "We're 10 games under .500 and I don't want to wait too long."
Said Favors: "I'll be ready whenever he tells me. I'm just waiting, continuing to do what I'm doing and just play hard."

So...uhm...people are probably going to be surprised by this (coming from me), but I DO NOT want Derrick Favors starting. I think, at this point, doing so would set a bad precedence to the team. Yes, we know it's a rebuilding year, but you cannot have your players knowing that, and starting Derrick Favors would do just that.
Increase his minutes at the expense of Petro or Murphy, even Humphries, but don't have him leapfrog what is otherwise a productive Kris Humphries, not when Derrick hasn't show that he deserves to be starting just yet.

i see what you're saying speedy, but at the same time, I think Favors can handle the job. His +/- is about 10 points higher than humps, and his production is pretty good as well on a per minute basis. plus This team isn't really going anywhere, experimenting with different lineups can't hurt/

Was that suppose to be a cheap shot? If so, that was lame, I actually expected a more hateful post from a Knicks fan who hasn't won a play-off game since 2000.
Thoroughly disappointed....
