Andre Miller?? What are we doing??

Yes, andre miller is a very solid point guard and has been over his entire career... but thats just it, he's already had a complete career. The man is 34 years old and in my opinion to give up a 27 year old devin harris for someone who may have 3 years left at best would just be asinine. Not to mention that andre miller has never won anything let alone been out of the first round of the playoffs.
Idk about you but Id much rather take my chances with a proven winner in Chauncey Billups over andre miller anyday... if those are the only choices we have. Both point guards are the same age, one has a Finals MVP, the other has a dirty homeless 'fro... the answer seems clear to me, what do you think?

Think about all the rumors you've read. Now think about all of those rumors that turned out to be true.
I wouldn't look too much into this the trade would never be a straight up Harris for Miller deal. Writers are just fabricating Melo stories at this point in time (see: Melo to the Mavericks).

this is true but also just because most of the rumors dont come true doesnt mean they arent actually being discussed. it wouldnt surprise me if all of these talks where actually going on, but my family has been nets fans and season ticket holder for almost 20 years and as much as these rumors are killing me i wont stop now.

Not that it matters (you guys don't need Andre Miller), but Andre is a better PG than Billups at this point in their careers.

Also deserving mention is that Portland consistently overvalues every player on their roster, this is likely more of that from them.

A 34 year old PG being used to convince Melo of a "future" in Nets jersey? Yes, that makes a lot of sense. Although, Miller's contract is either not guaranteed next year or is a team option. Might help, depending on who comes back to afford us more financial flexibility.

Graham is starting in both. So the correct answer to that is neither.

Zach who? Randolph? Where did you hear about him being traded to New Jersey? And like Jeff just said Graham as a starter, I wouldnt like the 95-96 Bulls with Graham starting.

Not sure how NJ would get Miller/Melo/Randolph in one or two trades. Billy Knight is not quite Pat Riley but if he could pull it off...Wow that would be a good team! Even the Roy idea seems good, but not sure how much Roy has left in him or even if he could continue his career in the near future, ala Terrel Brandon from Minnesota...

Why would we want Brandon Roy and his nagging knee injuries?
Why would we want Andre Miller who is closer to being forced into retirement after receiving another fatal crossover (e.g. the video above) than Devin Harris, who while oft injured provides a spark whenever he is in?
Why Randolph?
No...no....no....

Miller is still a very good PG, but I would imagine NJ would not be interested for the same reasons Portland is looking for another PG. He's nearly 35 years old and not a long-term solution. I'll bet he has another 3 years left in him. Someone mentioned Billups. While both are the same age (within 6 months I believe), Billups has had injuries here and there and missed games and will probably lose his game before Miller loses his. Miller is just an iron man. He rolls an ankle and just walks it off. I wouldn't be surprised if Portland picked up his team option next season, particularly given Roy's situation. I'm not sure what the Melo/Miller connection is and a Harris for Miller swap doesn't wow me, but I'd probably lean towards making the trade if it was really offered. Supposedly Denver wants Batum and I just don't see how that happens with these 3 teams.

Who do you want then. you must like Devin Harris alot then. I am not mad at you he is a really nice player. I wouldn't want to trade him either. but I would trade him for Derek Fisher if it meant landing Melo. Just me, but I am not even a Nets fan. so I guess you know better than me.

But is it a guarantee that acquiring Miller= acquiring Melo? I'd say no, and its not the kind of gamble I'd take.
