Kevin Love

Looks like Minnesota might be in a similar situation as Denver is this year with Melo. If we can nab Melo before the trade deadline this year I think we have to seriously look at bringing Love in before next years trade deadline, shoot even if we dont get Melo we need to try and get him on this squad. Im sure his price tag will be high if its gonna be through trade, but we should still have some good pieces left over to get a deal done. What do you all think?

Love will be a restricted free agent and minnesota will be able to match any offers, so Love will be in Minny for at least 2-3 more years.

If it was possible, and if we had to give Favors to get Melo (which we would have to), than of course i think we'd be all for it, but like Jeff said I don't think he'll be able to leave Minny. McHalehas a man crush on him and Love seems to be comfortable there.

Clearly I would "Love" to have him here should Favors depart but it just doesn't seem likely since he's restricted. He could go all Melo and say he won't play there which doesn't seem like him at all though.

Mayo is the guy to keep an eye on. He could be had on the cheep possibly.

I wouldn't get too amped up about getting Love in FA as has been posted here, but I'm not fully convinced he won't be at least partially available via trade. The problem for the Nets right now is that his value has never been higher. I don't think you can trade a 20 and 15 guy who is 22 for a rookie who is hardly playing on a 10-25 team and a mid-round pick - makes no sense. I don't know that the Nets would consider it, but a Favors and unprotected pick would probably be closer to what it would take to make it happen. Maybe MN would have to add in a peripheral asset (late 1st, Corey Brewer), but there has to be more upside there for MN for Kahn to make a move with Love.

No thanks. Kevin Love destroys any chance for the Nets to be a good defensive team, Love just doesn't play any help defense he'd rather box out someone in his immediate vicinity and pray someone else rotates over than rotate over himself when a teammate gets beat.

Love is basically David Lee 2.0, except he's better offensively and worse defensively.

I don't know how you could actually be worse than David Lee defensively.

In the same interview where he said he talked about possibly leaving the wolves, he said "I hope to be a Timberwolf for my whole career."

Sensationalist journalism....Wolves are gonna get him.

I really meant I don't know how Love could be worse than Lee. Lee is like tissue paper.
