Let's start up a discussion about potential deals not involving Melo.
So far some of the rumors are:
1) Danny Granger
2) Kevin Martin + Scola
3) OJ Mayo
What are your thoughts? What do you think it would take to get any of these deals done?

Excellent idea.
My first contribution cause it's one I have thought of awhile back
Memphis sends:
O.J. Mayo
We send:
Anthony Morrow
GSW pick or maybe a different pick.

I want Andre Miller. He's a leader on a short contract. He is a great team player. Will reduce our overhead financially and probably bring back another solid young asset.
Devin for Andre, Cunningham + Pick.
Would also love to get OJ Mayo, however I don't know if I would be quick to trade Morrow. I think he is a nice long term piece to have off the bench.

It's like the real life version of your B-A-T.

O.J. Mayo is an infinitely nicer long term piece off the bench and a fine starter for the next couple seasons.

anyone have any names that might be out there for Murphy?
Obviously don't want to take on any major salary commitments.
Would we considering putting a deal together around Gerald Wallace (2 yrs/20 mil)? Maybe one of our lesser firsts and Troy's contract.

I hope not, Crash is exactly the type of player that makes zero sense right now.

I think first things first is trade Harris, if he was a bit younger then I'd say keep him, but this dude is 27 and is clearly not going to be in our long-term plans.
I wouldn't mind the Portland trade that's been proposed in the other thread if it's the worst-case scenario, but I am sure there are teams out there with better packages looking to attain him.
Maybe get the Clips involved?

Well, since we have officially sent Troy home till further notice, the best thing would be to trade him for a young, inexpensive player with upside.

here's a trade that combines a few rumors:
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... Id=4zuouly Nets get - Andre Miller, OJ Mayo
Portland gets - Devin Harris, Graham Crackers
Memphis gets - Rudy Fernandez
If that's not fair the Nets can throw in a 1st round pick wherever it makes sense (the worst of our 5 obviously. not sure which pick that would be, maybe Houston?)
Miller / Farmar / Uzoh
Mayo / Morrow
Outlaw / Vujacic / James
Favors / Hump
Lopez / Petro

Portland would just trade for Mayo themselves.

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... Id=6bagqsvBulls get: Andre Iguodala, Ben Uzoh, Undisclosed Nets 1st Round pick
76ers Get: Damion James,
Troy, Murphy, Johan Petro,
Taj Gibson, James Johnson, Quinton Ross
Nets Get: Evan Turner, Andres Nocioni, Ronnie Brewer, Keith Bogans, Brian Scalabrine, Undisclosed 76ers 1st Round Pick
Why the Bulls do it? To get the SG they desperately need. Him playing alongside Rose, Noah, and Boozer would be a great squad.
Why the 76ers do it? The ET and A.I Pt.2 situation has failed. Time to ship them both out and build around Meeks and Holiday. A strong front court is needed.
Why the Net do it? Turner was scouted in the draft, but didn't drop to their pick. They aquire him and plenty other guard options who can score.
What do you guys think?

The Sixers are not giving up on their rookie, number 2 overall pick after 40+ games. That's just ridiculous.

IDK, I know he would be the best player in the deal(well that's arguable), but does Portland need another shooting guard and a guy that's going to need a decent sized extension soon to boot?
I don't see Memphis doing that though. Although Rudy has upped his value a little again, Mayo should bring back more then that.

They'd do that trade even if they were to trade him a day later. His value is a lot higher than fernandez.. but it's irrelevant either way, Memphis would never do that.

Yeah you're right, I never thought about it like that.
