The Machine

I was just wondering what you guys think of Sasha... Since i'm from Slovenia i'm a little biased (I think he's great, but i hate him because of his attitude towards the national team  ).

Does he fit into the long-term New Jersey Nets plan? (if there is one now that the Melo thing is over). And what do you think of his as a player? Can he be a starting 2 guard in this league? Does he have the skill? He shooting is lights out imo (altough he's too triggerhappy... A better shot selection and he would never shoot below 50%), but i'm not sold on his defense, even tough he has quick hands.

I must say i'm surprised by his play with the Nets, since the last 2 years in LA he seemed like a clown; he would get 2 min per game max, and he would shoot every time he got the ball (and usually miss).

So what do you think of Vujacic? What does his future hold?

i think hes a good player playing a role thats too big for him because of our current roster. we need him to be that spark off the bench that i think he could excel at but with the lack of talent we have right now hes forced to play a featured role and thats not gonna allow us to win games.

i would like to hang on to him for the future especially with a restructured lesser deal in the offseason but if were looking to make moves before the trade deadline his expiring deal is too attractive to other teams to not be included most likely.

Other than the obvious fact that he doesn't mind pissing just about any other player off, I also like the fact that he'll take big shots without hesitation. There have been a lot of times towards the end of games during the season that the team would just be passing the ball around until the shotclock wound down. Sasha will take it even if he missed his last 10 shots (which can be good or bad)

Down with NJN since Kenny and Derrick

For what Sasha is, he's a great player to have in any rotation. He's making a little bit too much money for what he provides a team, but he's a solid rotation guy. Barring injury, as long as he doesn't lose his stroke, this is the kind of guy who could last 10-12 years in the league as a shooter off the bench. He'll always be able to find a job. I gotta say though, being on the Lakers helps his case though. There are some great shooters in the league that bounced around for a LONG time because, yes they're good shooters, but you really can't gauge how they will handle a primetime situation. Sasha has shown numerous times on the Lakers he's ready and willing to make a big play and that is an advantage for him.

He's overpaid yes, but a veteran team will always want him.

With that said, when can we trade him? Not that I "want" to trade him. More that he's a nice sized expiring. Him and Murphy make up a little over $17,000,000.00 in expiring. I was just curious.

I think he takes a lot of contested shots, but the fact that he can get his shot off at any time is a big boost for our mediocre offense. He hustles, plays decent defense, and can handle the ball pretty well. I think he was a good pickup.

^^Yeah, Sasha was a good pickup. He can instant offense to certain degree. He gets a little overambitious sometimes but for the most part he's doing fine.
