I also would love to see Vince back. If we're gonna be mediocre this season, might as well be mediocre with players I like.

Give us Vince back and I"m down.

If we do pick up Vince what would we do for next season when he has an $18,000,000.00 team option? And who else would have to be included to get this done?

Couldn't we decline the team option and just resign him to another contract ?

Yes we can decline his option for next year. He's basically an expiring.

I actually believe the Suns are going to do this. At that point, if we nabbed a big time free agent this summer, I'd give Vince a call and see if he'd take part of the MLE on a 2/3 year deal. Of course that's a big IF and we don't know how the dominos will fall at this deadline or the summer. It's an idea though.

Is there a deadline this season to decline his option or is it a post-season deadline?

If VC is basically an expiring I would definitely do this deal. I wouldn't do it until the last minute of the trade deadline because it would severely limit our cap flexibility to make other deals this year (Melo) - but if it's a choice between keeping/buying out Murphy, or getting back Vince, I would take Vince in a heartbeat.

He's a good partner for Devin, he would allow us to put either Morrow or Outlaw on the bench, he'd instantly be the best playmaker on the team, and would probably be very good for Lopez.

If there was a way we could get the Suns to take on Outlaw, then it would make more sense for us.I would love to sign VC to MLE type deal.We could even offer him a little more on 2/3 year deal if we get rid of Outlaw's contract.I would still trade for VC even if we couldn't dump Outlaw,he would be a respected leader for this team and he liked playing here.

1)Murphy,Outlaw and 2 picks(LAL 1st,Houston 1st) for VC

2)Murphy,Outlaw and the GSW 1st for VC (I wouldn't mind adding the LAL or Houston pick to this)

3)Murphy and Sasha for VC

VC?

No.

Adding meaningless wins for nostalgia's sake ='s good idea?

Vince is a guy I would strongly consider for a MLE sized 2 year deal with 3rd year team option or something like that next offseason completely depending on how this trade deadline and the upcoming draft go though.

^^^agreed. It does make more sense just to wait and offer the contract in the off season.Unless they agreed to take outlaw lol but thats happening.I can't believe we're stuck with Outlaw and his horrid contract.

Yeah, they take Outlaw and I'll change my tune, lol.

It would have to be something wildly in our Favor IMO, which Phoenix likely wouldn't do.

Something like Outlaw, Petro and Murphy for VC and Frye.

Some of you may murder me just for thinking about something like this, but does this interest anyone?

We get Vince, consolidate our roster/expirings

I know some people would lose their minds about the thought of Ron on our team. I always liked him since I'm a St. John's fan. I'm realizing it's going to be extremely difficult to move Outlaw's deal unless we take a contract similar. I would think Ron getting involved more than he is in the Triangle and the fact we're moving to his hometown will revitalize him as long as he continues to see his shrink.

Wilcox as a last ditch effort. I can't see Detroit biting on this without us sending them some pick or cash or both because Wilcox is an expiring and they'd be eating Petro's contract. I'm just tired of seeing Petro on this team and I wanted a big man who could spot start at the 4 or 5 (though a small 5 lol) for the remainder of the year.

Flame away though. I wouldn't be opposed to this, but I could totally see everyone's side if 99.9% of you wanted to kill me.

Drugs or not, I'd much rather make a play for Mayo

We finally get Chris Wilcox.. WIN!

In all seriousness, I was just about to ask if anyone here would be willing to do a Ron Artest for Travis Outlaw Trade.

No thanks on Artest. If he had 3 years left I'd consider it but he has only one less year then Outlaw and he'd explode here with the losing and the lack of a true leader on the floor. He's not something a young team needs. He'd have Favors mugging old ladies and a free styling on the corner after practice. That contract is just too much of a risk.

I think he's clinically insane.

Yeah I definitely understand the problem with Ron. I wish he was slightly better offensively but he can still a defensive stopper. I was trying to find a multi-team deal where we'd bring a vet in with him like Vince.

You're right though that if I wish his contract was a few years less.

I'm just trying to figure out how to get Outlaw off this team. Yes he played well the other night, but I just want someone consistant.

The only reasonable trades would be:

Murphy to Dallas Mavs for Butler, Cardinal
Murphy to Dallas Mavs for Butler, Jones

Murphy to New Orleans for Banks (NO would use their trade exception from the Peja deal)

We might as well trade Murphy for something because if not he's going to get bought out.
