Lopez needs to start playing like he can so we can get some value out of him. DWill isn't staying with Lopez here. D12 + DWill will be rocking Brooklyn.

Lopez should benefit the MOST from DWill... although I agree, D12 is a must for our team

Thought this was worth posting. Brook has obviously had a down year and I've been as hard on him as anyone, but I think we need to give this guy a pass. His neck and face alone look about 10% lighter then past years.

We've all heard the stories in the past about guys in the NBA dropping weight during the season. I remember RJ saying he would put on 5-10 pounds of muscle in the offseason and lose at least 15 pounds during the season. For a guy like Lopez it must be even harder to keep on weight.

The Nets reported to the world that Lopez came in this year after his bout with Mono at his "normal weight" - I'd be willing to be that means he was at least 10 pounds under his normal weight, maybe even more. By this point in the season he's probably down at least 20.

I predict a huge bounce back season for Brook next year next to Deron. HUGE. Get a few good supporting players like Morrow and this team is going to be a really solid team even if we can't find a legit "star" until 2012.

I agree. People are too hard on him. He is one of the best centers in the league. He is a very good low post scorer and he is a very good shooter up to 20 ft. There aren't a lot of big man in the league that I would replace him with. I think this bout of mono really hurt him this season. It takes like a full year to fully recover from it. Look at what it did to Andy Roddick the tennis player. He used to be able to go whole 5 set matches and not even look tired. he got mono last season and hasn't been the same and is now only being to get back to his fitness about a year later.

Give brook some time. He is also adjusting to the stupid offense that avery is running. This isn't exactly the offense that is perfect for Brook's game. We should run more of the offense that the spurs used to run for duncan. Not saying brook is Duncan but he has similar offensive skills.

I fully expect him to recover next year and have 20 ppg and atleast 8 rpg.

I like brook as a player, but he needs to work the glass better then he has been. Maybe his effort has been down because of how bad the Nets have been? Im sure if he was on a playoff team he would be more motivated. I watch the nets every so often and a lot of the games he seems as if he doesnt play with A lot of effort. I think you guys are expecting too much from him, Brook needs to focus on doing some of the dirty work and not worry about being a star center.

To be honest, I think D-Will needs to look for Brook more on every offensive possession.

When guys score, they're happy. When they're happy, they're more motivated and I think that might help Brooks rebounding game a little bit. If he got more easy buckets and saw his scoring total go up, he might be more motivated and try harder on the defensive end. There are multiple possessions I see, in a row, where Brook doesn't get a touch, and if he does it's and the end of a shot clock and he needs to force up a long, contested mid range shot.

Feed the guy more on offense, get him more easy buckets and we might see him pull down some more rebounds.

I agree. Most of the sportscasters talk about how he's regressed but they don't mention/don't know that he had mono.

I think it's a combination of him not getting the ball and him not staying the paint. I've seen him out in the 15ft range taking jumpshots so many times. It doesn't really matter if you can hit them, you're a center you need to be on the block at all times not 15 ft away from the basket calling for the ball to take a jumpshot. He should only be able to do that when he's master the art of being a dominant interior big man.
