Hypothetical: Deron?

Let's say we get to the trade deadline and Deron hasn't signed an extension. To make matters worse let's pretend he demands that he wants out...
What do you think we could realistically expect to get in return for him if we find a team he wants to play for and he signs an extension? And what if he's not extended?
Basically... Why can't we do what the Nuggets did with Carmelo?
There's been talk about how the Nets lose the Deron trade if Deron doesn't re-sign but I'm not so sure about that, losing Favors hurts. Losing Harris doesn't. As for that lottery pick we gave up? Weaker draft than one would have hoped but the verdict is still out on that.

Trade him to orlando for Gilbert Arenas.
Arenas would thrive under Avery.

I could be down with that if we sign Thaddeus Young in the offseason.
Arenas - Young - Outlaw that's a pretty versatile trio.

The General would salivate at the sight of those 3...

This hypothetical makes me sad, ten fold if the Jazz wind up with Derrick Williams, hundred fold if it's Kyrie Irving.

You know what, If D-Will leaves the team I'll change my name to SoulofAKnicksfan.
I'm that certain D-WIll will be a net for the unforeseeable future..

If it does happen, it will have to be for a team desperately needing a PG of Deron Williams caliber, and is in the brink of really contending. Of the teams in the playoffs this year, Boston, OKC, and Chicago would be out of the running (all three have PGs that they are happy with).
Then, you take out teams with no cap space...like the Magic, Lakers, etc. With them being out of cap, there's really no threat that Deron would just bolt.
Basically, this is Dwight Howard to Brooklyn in reverse. Same qualifications we use to figure out where Dwight would/could go, applies to Deron. So, it leads to the common teams: Pacers, Clippers, Kings, and us.
Given that list, I honestly don't understand why Deron would go elsewhere. But say he does, I say we put those three teams in a bidding war before the deadline, squeeze the heck out of them (Pacers: Paul George/Collison, Clips: Gordon/Jordan, Kings: Evans).

Be careful with a name like that it can have dramatic effects on you. If you let it get in your head you'll soon become a gigantic homer and know nothing about basketball. You'll start saying people will take less money to play for us and we'll trade Outlaw for Durant.
Stay strong it's just a name.

I always like this one too, it seems underused.

Haha, there's already 3 votes for Westbrook.
They should raise the age requirement for RealGM accounts.

I don't think an age requirement would do much to be honest. A lot of these kids never grow up mentally.
