What type of player was Josh Boone? would he make a good back up center? could he start at the four of five? what did he do well? what was his flaws?
I would really appreciate any feed back.
Thanks in advance

He is a good rebounder and a good finisher inside. He is too weak to play center and has no outside game whatsoever. Terrible free throw shooter as well. I believe he is a good third string big man.

Had finishing around the basket / wouldn't go up strong enough, no jumper whatsoever and can't create for himself, as is well documented was also a historically bad free throw shooter. A lot of it stemmed from confidence issues...
He's a pretty active player and can rebound well (a very good offensive rebounder) , I always thought his defense was acceptable, will occasionally have a big block or dunk, despite his flaws offensively always posted +50% FG%...
He's a respectable backup, you can get away with him as a spot starter on some teams but you need an elite point guard to feed him the ball (career averages as a starter of 8 ppg 8 rpg 1.1 bpg in 27 mpg)... I'm honestly not sure why he couldn't get another contract in the NBA.

I really wish we had him instead of Johan Petro.
I think he was undervalued by other Nets fans during his tenure here. Sure he was limited offensively but he wasn't completely useless on that end either. He was a decent finisher though he could be a bit soft. Great rebounder and for some reason the team would always be better with him on the court. He would be the perfect 2nd big off the bench for any team.
It disappoints me that the FO wasted big money on a guy like Johan Petro when Boone is easily the better player.
