Chuck Hayes

I assume it was a joke pick, but in every draft there are a few teams that make horrible picks.

Tough spot... I don't really wanna start my franchise with an excellent role player, a pure prospect, or a scoring, not quite superstar with no panache and not enough ability (Joe Johnson, Monta Ellis, etc).
Assuming there's a season next year, I'd probably draft Manu. International superstar, exciting player, sells tickets, impactful on both ends, big time player down the stretch. Yeah, he's got two years left, but I'm fine with that, I'll take him as my best player in a playoff series over a great deal of teams who drafted in front of me. Once he's done, I'll happily draft in the upper lottery and almost assuredly pick up a player/prospect the caliber of which team's drafted in front of me on my first shot.
No season next year, James Harden or Eric Gordon. Hmmm... maybe James Harden anyway.

What the? What's with completely random order of picks?
Anyway, Brook. Not ready to give up on the big fella yet, and of the guys who are left, who can give you 20 ppg on good FG%?
Granger, Randolph, and Lopez. Factor in the age, potential, position play AND health?
Brook.

I love that if Brook wasn't drafted here, he would not be a complete lock to be gone by this pick in the 2nd round.

This is Brook. Big men with skills don't grow on trees...
