Two weeks late but I just remembered that I planned on creating a thread about this as soon as it was released
http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/page/5-o ... -questions
The Questions:
1-Fact or Fiction: Deron Williams will be a Net in 2012-13?
2-Fact or Fiction: Even if D-Will doesn't stay, the trade was the right call.
3-Fact or Fiction: Brooklyn and Dwight Howard belong together.
4-Fact or Fiction: Brook Lopez has multiple All-Star Games in his future.
5-Fact or Fiction: The Nets will make the playoffs next season.
1-Fact or Fiction: Deron Williams will be a Net in 2012-13? Fact. Only so many teams RIGHT NOW have the cap space to sign Deron outright.. and I suspect that the number teams who'll be able to sign him will reduce once the new CBA is announced. We all know the Nets aren't trading him and are willing to risk him leaving, but unless D-Will signs for less money, he'll be a Net for years to come.
2-Fact or Fiction: Even if D-Will doesn't stay, the trade was the right call. Fact. This team was headed nowhere and desperately needed a franchise player. With the upcoming move to brooklyn, the Nets needed star power to introduce the new era and even more so now that the Knicks have both Stoudemire and 'Melo. The risk of losing a top 10 player is better than having no top player at all.
3-Fact or Fiction: Brooklyn and Dwight Howard belong together. fact, though I think this is a really stupid question. You can ask any team the same question and everyone will say Dwight and their team belongs together.
4-Fact or Fiction: Brook Lopez has multiple All-Star Games in his future. Fact. Shouldn't even be in doubt. The only 2 centers better than Lopez in the east are Dwight and Bogut. And Bogut isn't exactly the healthiest player in the league. Brook should make 3+ all star teams in the future, no doubt.
5-Fact or Fiction: The Nets will make the playoffs next season This could go either way. Depends on who the Nets sign this offseason. Right now, we aren't a playoff team. This team lacks talent outside of Deron and Brook. I love Morrow, but he should never be your third best player... ever.
