next game...

Post#1 » by fefe22 » Mon Sep 26, 2011 2:05 pm

I have a feeling that the entire 11/12 NBA season will ba cancelled.

I think our next game will be in the new arena, and I predict the following starting lineup:
Deron Williams - Vince Carter - Andej Kirilenko - Dwight Howard - Brook Lopez

Would you guys be ok with that?

(if this thread is way too stupid for local standards, you guys can close it, but please don't ban me, I promise I'll try to make better contribution next time :) )

If the entire season is cancelled, I think you'd be seeing a high draft pick starting at the 3, not Kirilenko. In addition, if the entire season is cancelled, I'm not sure Howard and Lopez is possible as the team would need to trade Farmar and Petro at the very least to get the cap room for both, and I'm not sure many teams would be lining up to help the Nets unite Howard and Williams. At least with Beasley, he had some upside, where as Petro and Farmar are what they are: back ups.

Of course we would use the amnesty clause on Outlaw.

I think they'll be a season, at least 50 games, maybe as many as 70.

I think we'll sign Nene as long as he wants to be here.

I think we'll ship out Petro with a 2nd and $3 million for a TPE or expiring.

I think at some point during the season you'll see Farmar traded for an expiring or pure cap.

I think we'll amnesty Outhouse.

I think we'll trade Brook at the deadline for a high level wing on rookie contract through 2012-13 and a half season/playoff stopgap big man as long as we know Dwight is making it to free agency.

I think we'll trade for a good player(s) on a wildly overpriced expiring(s) for nothing but pure cap at some point to build a temporary solid roster for this year. A guy(s) like Camby, Jamison, Barbosa, Kaman, Okur or Diaw.

I think we may throw a small asset at a team like Utah for C.J. Miles, Phoenix for Pietrus or maybe Mayo, although all pose the risk of not being resignable to maintain 2012 cap.

Wow, I haven't been around in a long ass time since the lockout is depressing and I come back to see that we agree with almost every prediction for the next year. What happened to the real VC4P?

Hopefully the Nene stuff isn't wishful thinking that turns into David West.

Going by my fantasy basketball lineup Nene would be a beast as our new PF. I would love to sign him.

Would Nene be able toplay with Howard or would they be to similar?

Could you imagine the defence around the rim with Nene and D12 haha would be so fun to watch

I think Dwight and Nene together would be incredible, much better then Dwight and Brook.

What second round pick VC?

That dude Billy King dumb Come has already traded the Nets 2012 (Golden State), 2013 (Minnesota), and 2014 (Boston) second rounders

The Nets do have Miami's 2012 second round pick though :-D

---

Joking aside though other than the Golden State giveaway (the pick was included in the Troy Murphy dump) I can live with how King traded away the 2013 (Bogdanovic) and 2014 (MarShon Brooks) second round picks...

Better all around, yeah, but the offensive symmetry between Brook and Dwight is surely tempting.

Use our top 5 draft choice on a wing most likely Barnes, but maybe a Jones', or Gilchrist/ Miller

Amnesty OUTlaw

Trade Farmar, Petro and a 2nd round pick or Bogdanovic for 2 second round picks to dump salary

Sign Howard, don't give Orlando nothing

Resign Lopez

Extend Deron

Then sign VC and Kenyon Martin to small very short term contracts 1or 2 years.

Post-lockout lineup -

Deron/ Morrow/ Harrison Barnes/ Howard/ re-signed and improved Lopez
Gaines/ VC/ Brooks/ James/ Martin

The most efficient offense in the league and a solid defense (not elite though). BTW Lopez becomes a lot better having spent a year in the gym getting quicker and stronger.

if the lockout happens what stops deron from bolting to a contender, like LA, NY, or ORL?
