What are the odds on an E sighting tomorrow?

E only comes back when can't take anymore nonsense being spewed from trolls and n00bs and decides to tear them to shreds lol.

Although I must say that he hasn't said anything since he and many others said the Heat would win the Finals and a few of us said the Mavs would ;)

He's posted even more sporadically since he was wrong about the Troy Murphy trade.

I'm sure we'll see E come back around December 9, because that is when Billy Knight is going to blow away our cap space with mediocre signings and deals ala Troy Murphy

That's not nice, Billy Knight would never do that.

We all talked about it before, the best possible thing for this team is an extended lockout that cancels the upcoming season. The season starting midway is the worst possible thing to happen for this team, and I pretty much eliminate all Dwight Howard hopes with this.

Not only will Billy have to deal with a shortened timeframe to sign guys, he has to sign UP to 85% of the cap to meet the floor.

Hello to guys like Chandler, Nene, or West signed to big deals.

I feel as though both the Nets and Wizards would have issued qualifying offers to Brandan Wright and Yi Jianlian respectively had they known the salary floor was going to rise to 85% of the salary cap. BOO.

Time to find another Troy Murphy to trade for

edit 1: Also fun fact Stephen Graham's contract was supposed to become fully guaranteed for the year starting on December 1st. I'm not sure how this will be handled given the lockout but my best guess would be to prepare yourself for another year of Graham Slams!

edit 2: Assuming the Nets can't land Nene or Chandler who are pretty much the only FA worth giving big contracts, I would look to flip Graham for to the 76'ers for an expiring contract like Andres Nocioni ($6.5) or the Suns for Mickael Pietrus ($5.3) million.

Pietrus is an interesting fallback name to replace Outlaw in the rotation with Morrow and Brooks. His athleticism and shooting ability would mix in well with DWill.

We should compile a list of expiring contracts heading into this season. Assuming we do miss out on the few intriguing guys out there, Billy King is going to taking a lot of handouts from other rosters.

edit - here's the list. A few intriguing names on there. Antawn Jamison would be interesting in a big rotation if all other options strike out. Would probably have to bring back Hump as a 3rd big to bring some toughness inside.

The expiring contracts (when sorted by "Salaries by Year") isn't always 100% accurate as it often fails to take into account player or team options but it's close enough (example: Evan Turner is listed as an expiring contract in 2011-2012, and while he technically is it's a forgone conclusion that he won't be because the 76'ers will pick up his team option)...

He doesn't have to sign anybody Speedy.

He can meet the salary floor by trade. That's how we got there last year.

Also, we can make one big salary move and still maintain flexibility for 2012, but then it is imperative Billy and co. doesn't take on another dime of salary that goes past this season.

Just cause we sign a Nene or Chandler, or instead trade for an Iggy or Kevin Martin, it doesn't mean we should blow the rest of the cap on crappy 4th tier guys like Prince or Butler or god forbid Jamal Abortion Crawful.

Iguadala is interesting. No idea what the dynamic is in terms of his availability, but I think he is exactly the kind of 3rd guy that could play a significant role in getting Deron and D12 to commit here. He's got a lot of credibility having been on all star teams/team USA with both of them and he can be a versatile piece on a winning team. He would basically be the ignition signal that this team is serious - kind of like Ray Allen was for the Celtics.

Adding Iggy alone probably makes this team better than the Knicks/Hawks. Combine that with next year's capspace and it will be a no-brainer for Deron to resign (and recruit friends).

When do they need to be at the floor? By end of the season? Still, I don't see him not making a splash. Not the BK I've seen here so far.
