Why not Pau ?

So nene is nugget and howard may be staying in orlando...

You guys are looking for elite bigman and lakers are looking for draft pieces to trade to New Orleans...

A Lopez Gasol front court looks pretty good to me and should be enough to make Deron want to stay. With Dallas clearing up cap space looking to pinch him there should be a push to bolster roster...

I am assuming that Howard is obviously always going to be plan A, but as a back up plan...

Gasol is damn good and you certainly got the pieces L.A needs to get paul.

The problem with this scenario is you're saying Dwight will be in Orlando.

I do agree with your last couple of points, though.

How are we getting Pau without giving up Brook? Picks and cap space get that done?

No, it won't. Lakers could get Kevin Martin, Scola and more for Pau.

New Orleans (well david stern) doesn't want what houston offering. They want young players, cap space and picks.

2 first round picks and cap space could be enough...

New Orleans trades C Paul to Lakers
Lakers trade Pau Gasol to Nets and 1st round pick to New Orleans
New Orleans trades 2 1st round picks to New Orleans

Most likely would be more players moving around to get it done (some young guys ) but that is the basis of my idea. I haven't studied your cap situation to see how much you can take in this kind of trade but you could use a sign and traded Mr. Kardashian to balance things out

Key to the whole thing is Orlando saying Howard is not getting traded. Then Lakers really want C Paul and you guys move on to next big man available...Pau

So Lakers give up a 31 year old Pau Gasol and a late first round pick for the best PG who's only 26. Yeah, ok.

IDK about "best PG", but yeah, that's the problem I've had with all of these Paul-to-LAL talks.

But I agree with enetric: we would have to give up Brook if we got roped into CP3 talks. IN CASE DWIGHT TALKS COMPLETELY BREAK DOWN, I would envision us doing something like this:

LAL: Gasol/DAL1st/LAL1st for Paul

NJN: Farmar/Lopez for Gasol/Ariza

NOH: Paul/Ariza for Farmar/Lopez/DAL1st/LAL1st

Willliams, Morrow, Ariza, {Humphries}, Gasol
Gaines, Brooks, James, Williams, Petro

Why the f.uck would the Lakers want a shooting guard and a power forward who has half the skill of Gasol. Use your head.

You're not paying attention to trade talks. E is talking about the package that HOU was offering for Pau, TO GO TO NEW ORLEANS as part of the Chris Paul deal.
