Dwight Howard monitoring thread (All other topics merging)

Now that Atlanta closed out the series with a stunning upset, all eyes are now on Howard including the Nets on what could turn out to be an intriguing off-season.
It's undeniable that DWill is going to court D12, and knowing Proky, he'll make sure that money won't be an issue.
I'd like us to discuss the possibility/reality of Howard jumping ship to Brooklyn. The other threads are more broad so I want it to be specific here. Also, I wanna see the consequences of Orlando losing the series.
Now, I'm no longer dreaming, I think that Dwight is no longer just a pipe dream...

We need to make the playoffs first. If we're a 5-8 seed I could see Dwight coming at the dead line. But we'd need to get a lot better in the off season. I would want to sign Young or Afflalo.

Agree. That's why I think that this is the mother of all off-season's. Our FO's actions will be crucial in preparation for the transfer to Brooklyn. This will either make or break the franchise in the coming years...

Shaq all over again, the beginning of some serious heart-ache for Magic fans.

Looking at how that team is burdened with attrocious contracts, with an expectation of a finals appearance, only to lose on the first round to a 44-win team.
Not a good time to be a Magic fan...

The writing is on the wall guys:
"I got a goal, and it's a huge goal, and that's to bring an NBA championship here to Cleveland, and I won't stop until I get it." – LeBron James, April 2010
*Signed with Miami – July 2010
"Right now, I'm here. I'm with the Nuggets." - Carmelo Anthony, October 2010
*Traded to New York – Feb 2011
"I love Orlando." "That's my city." "Things are going to get better." - Dwight Howard, March 2011
*Traded/Signed - ???

The press conference was the best. Some reporter started to ask him about free agency, he quickly cut him off with this.
Dwight: "I'm with Orlando right now and that's all that matters."

Man. I don't think I would ever change my screen name, but since last summer I always thought to myself if I did, it would be NetsGod, the irony would be too thick and the novelty would never wear out.
I swear on it, no BS.
Damn.

NetsGod.. If you want to become the G.O.A.T. you must include in every single post some asinine reason for why the crap you're about to say ''makes sense.''
Example:
Dwight WILL be a Net sooner or later. Throughout the series with Atlanta he got hammered repeatedly and only one player stood up for him. You could tell Dwight didn't appreciate the rest of his teammates cowardly stepping aside while Pachulia, Collins etc all took swipes at him. He knows that if he were to play for the Nets he'd be playing under Avery Johnson, a guy nicknamed the little general. And you don't get that nickname unless you're always in the middle of the war.
Another reason is that Dwight is a Sagittarius and D-Will is a Cancer, there's no better match. I think we all just witnessed Dwight's last game as a Magic and he'll force his way to the Nets. We wouldn't even have to give much to acquire Dwight either, Dwight wouldn't allow it. Maybe Petro, Humphries and a 1st pick protected 1-28. I Would include Damion James but he'd be the main chip for a potential LaMarcus Aldridge trade.

Well, you never know. Maybe he decides to stay. It always feels terrible when you feel like your team could/is about to trade away your franchise player. The question is does have it within to say trade me? He's a nice guy but would he really demand a trade? Maybe...maybe not. You would think that the player's mindset is that they can't waste any years with an "oh well, let's try again next year with the same squad attitude" but D12 is a nice guy. We'll see what happens...
