Gonna Trust Billy's 2012 agenda?

Hopefully he and D-Will knows something we don't about D-Whites intentions. It looks like we may have a possible dream team of our own if we stay patient and tank the season.

PG D-Will/Farmar
SG Morrow/Brooks
SF G Wallace/Kirelenko
PF Humphries/M. Okur
C Howard/B. Wallace

I like that team. Mehmet Okur can come off the bench or start and really leave the middle open for Dwight. Wallace can play Defense and he can score...He played great in the playoffs last year. I think we need to start calling his agent now!!!! And we can convince Big Ben to back up Howard and still have Humphries around to with Double Doubles and let Howard roam the paint to challenge every shot.

What do you guys think?

that team looks good on paper, but honestly I don't want a team where half the team could legitimately retire within one year/are washed up.

after the last couple weeks i have lost all faith in the nets organization or their agenda.

they will continue to pursue average players (i.e. sheldon williams) and continue their belief all top free agents will want to play in brooklyn. until a big name free agent is signed i will doubt every move they make past, present, and future.

So not willing to sign FA to ridiculous contracts is a bad thing? If anything us fans should be applauding the non-moves... unless you think last offseason was better than this one. Billy King has been one of the winners this offseason.

So nobody wanted to bite and I now have to shamelessly quote myself?

If you guys remember all summer(probably more so on ND where repetition is key lol) I kept saying if we didn't sign anyone, didn't tie up big money past this season in trades, it meant Deron and Billy know a lot more of what's going on with Dwight and we basically have him in the bag.

In other words, Deron 100% knows Dwight will be here by hook or by crook so there is no risk, just like Melo with NYK, just like Bosh and Lebron with Miami.

With the size of Dirks contract I fail to see how they can sign both of them as free agents and also if Billy King is to be believed he will not trade Deron no matter what. Therefore Deron would be giving up $30million in salary.

Dirk is earning $20million a season so how do you fit Howard and Williams in plus cap holds under the cap of $58million??

With cap holds etc there just is no way it can happen. I don't see Dallas as a threat at all. Its Dwight to lakers or us and if we lose out on Howard to the Lakers then Deron to Dallas becomes a possibility but I just don't see it.

Totally missed the sarcasm, getting to used to idiot posters on Nets Daily who basically jump in front of trains after every anouncement. Its turned me into a fire fighter putting out massive blazes left right and centre.

Apologises Speedy

Green font is for losers.

And there is a way for them to do it. Needs some contract manipulations, but is doable.

Didn't we just try to sign two players (Butler and Nene) to massive, long term deals?

Billy King talks to media, says he was surprised by the money free agents were commanding and thought it prudent to save flexibility

Billy has learned his lesson! Round of applause!

??? The reporting seemed pretty definitive that both of those players had offers on the table from us, but if Billy really did back off last minute in pursuit of a long term strategy based around maintaining maximum flexibility, that's damn impressive and he should be commended. Of course there's always the possibility that those guys just wanted to play elsewhere and this is retroactive justification.

I don't know about that. I would say that we are safely Dwight's first choice. But what if Dwight was traded to Lakers (which is not an unlikely possibility at all)? Would he refuse an extension with them? I highly doubt it.

However, if Dwight is still with Magic after the trade deadline, then I'll be very confident of our chances to sign him in FA.
