I know most of you guys here hate Jordan Farmar, but the guy is a solid NBA player. and on a team that hasnt been able to put the ball in the basket we cant not be playing one of our better play makers. Farmar was really good last year in his role, 10 ppg and 5 apg in 25mpg. those are solid numbers. He Needs to be playing. hes gotten 25 total minutes this year. today he didnt even play at all. is there something going on between him and Avery?? something has to be wrong.

avery thinks gaines is the better shooter and penetrator and about as good defensively... and hes probably right. its a toss up between those two, not like one is significantly better than the other. and i agree with avery that you really dont want to play both. pick your guy and let him play. hopefully theres still a few teams out there that like what farmar brings and we can get a somewhat decent piece in return for him

The Nets have been reluctant to go small and Gaines is a noticeably better defender than Farmar which coupled with the additions of Brooks and Stevenson have led to a minute squeeze... I think the Farmar hate can get unreasonable times (he is just a backup afterall and I don't think anyone with an ounce of credibility ever argued otherwise) and I think his catch-and-shoot ability would definitely help the team but the question is who are you going to cut out of the rotation?

Jordan Farmar said the ice on his ankle before the game had nothing to do with his not playing. Strictly a coaches’ decision.

Nvm. I guess this pretty much means we're trying to trade him.

Good, he's awful. Gaines is easily the better option at this point.

Gaines is better and plays both smarter and harder. Farmar doesn't give a damn and it's obvious to me he wants out of here.

What is Farmar good at? Serious question.

To be honest, I think he's actually a decent option to have at PG. He's a good 3pt shooter, and he has pretty good court vision. I think he just overestimates his own strengths, and tries to do too much. This ends up with him looking embarrassingly bad at times.

I agree though that Gaines is the better option, but he should strictly be the backup PG, not a starter.

He's a decent enough three point shooter, but I disagree with the court vision, he passes as a last resort most of the time.

As for Gaines, I don't think he should be starting either, I expect that to change once Marshon is ready to start. If it were up to me I'd bench James as well and move Morrow to the SF position. I hate seeing this team trail by double digits when the 2nd quarter starts.

Jazz fan here, but nice to see that Gaines' play has gained momentum in the NJ camp. He doesn't look like a permanent starting SG/dual PG option, but from what I've seen, he does seem to be a lot better than Farmar on both sides by a mile. Very solid back-up PG option.

I liked his dunk in garbage time on the fast break at the end of the Pacers game. I'm pretty sure that play is usually a layup for Farmar, but he realized mid break that his career needed a slam dunk.
