Horrible Season could be Blessing in Disguise

Despite us playing terribly, I had a sudden rush of optimism this morning.
Lo and behold I check ND this morning and I see a golden nugget amongst the garbage of the season. Kerber quotes D-Will saying:
I'll admit that I even started to panic after looking at how bad things were going with the injuries, losses, and the inept coaching style of Avery.
However, D-Will's comments gave me huge boost and it only confirms what many of us have been wanting and hoping for a while.
Let's not forget that D-Will was basically co-GM this offseason. Every move and non-move that we made was done with agreement, recommendation, and approval of D-Will. Let's not fool ourselves and think that he's surprised that the team is what it is right now.
When D-Will said that he'd be grumpy if he lost a lot, people ran off with that comment and figured that he was basically asking for a trade. At that time, I said 'no, he's admitting that he won't be happy with the current conditions and he'll be grumpy AS HE GOES through it'. In other words, when he saw the final composition of the roster, he knew there was a chance that we'd be bad (however probably not due to injury) and he saw himself being upset and yet still on the team.
Ironically, the big picture could be even brighter, the worse this season is. BK must be telling Deron that it's a win-win situation. If we're good now, we'll make the playoffs and make D-Will happy and still have $25 mil in cap space (more than enough to sign D12).
However, if we are as bad for the rest of the season as we are now, we'll have a high lottery pick in the making in a stacked draft in addition to having what was mentioned in the previous scenario.
That's the true big picture.
Don't give up assets and trade for D12. Keep Lopez (or trade for a great SF or PF) and Brooks.
We could open Brooklyn with D-Will, Brooks, D12, Lopez, and A.Davis/Drummond/Sullinger/MKG, etc.
Talk about a championship roster.
Remember when D-Will said that he would recruit. I almost guarantee that BK gave him specific instructions on what to tell Dwight. Therefore, when D12 went to management and requested a trade to the Nets, they probably thought that some of the logic behind it was too precise for it to be thought of by Dwight alone. So we get accused of tampering because things seem to much of a slam dunk.
Now, there (supposedly) are reports that D12 has told ORL that he gets traded to NJ or no place else. It seems to good to be true. However, as long as D-Will focuses on the big picture, I think he'll agree that 7+ years of title contention is worth one bad year.
Lo and behold I check ND this morning and I see a golden nugget amongst the garbage of the season. Kerber quotes D-Will saying:
"I never started a season like this, so it’s very, very unusual for me, very frustrating, very tough, but at the same time, it’s all unusual circumstances.
"We have a new team, pretty much. Still have a lot to add. I just try to look at the bigger picture, as much as possible, but still stay focused on trying to get some wins” Williams said, indicating he believes in GM Billy King who he thinks will get the necessary parts.
"I'm very confident. Very confident in what Billy's doing, and that's why I'm trying to be – I am being -- patient. I understand. Like I said, there's a bigger picture."
