When can we realistically get our next win?

Post#1 » by therealbig3 » Wed Jan 11, 2012 10:32 am

I'm looking at the schedule we have, and to be honest, it looks like we'll be stuck at 2 wins for a while.

Here's the Nets upcoming games, until we have a winnable game (imo):

Nuggets
Suns
Jazz
Clippers
Warriors
Thunder
Bobcats
Bulls
Sixers
Cavs

Before we get to the Cavs, we could potentially be a 2-17 team...and it's no guarantee we beat the Cavs either.

I know you could point to the Jazz, Warriors, or Bobcats, and say we could possibly win those, but think about the front court that the Jazz have, and compare it ours. Think about the offensive talent that the Warriors have, and compare it to ours. The Bobcats have a bunch of nice young players, and seem to be playing well right now.

And there's definitely going to be some laughers in there, specifically the Clippers, Thunder, and Bulls.

Warriors
Jazz (I mean they have to lose at home sometime, right?)
Bobcats
Clippers
Suns

We'll be underdogs in all of them except maybe Charlotte, but all of those teams are beatable. The Warriors, Suns and Jazz are all inconsistent, one night they look like Playoffs teams and others they look as bad as us. I mentioned the clippers because Kris Humphries outplayed Griffin twice last year and Deron Williams has outplayed Chris Paul the majority of his career. And the bobcats... well, they're the bobcats, need I say more?

Outside of Paul and Griffin, the Clippers have Caron Butler, Chauncey Billups, DeAndre Jordan, and Mo Williams, while we have Marshon Brooks and...Anthony Morrow?

Deandre Jordan sucks in my honest opinion. He has managed to get worse this year despite playing with a superstar PG in paul. Billups and Butler are average players at this point. And if Billups plays 30+ then Mo Williams won't get much playing time since Foye also gets backup minutes at the 2.

Don't get me wrong, they're EASILY a more talented team than we are and should be heavy favorites when they play us, but I see them as a team we could possibly beat if we catch them at the end of a back-to-back and we're hitting our shots.

Maybe, but Deron does have to outplay Chris Paul the way he historically has, otherwise we're getting blown out imo, and the way Deron's been playing, he's definitely not going to be able to.

And we have to shoot the way we did against Toronto, imo.

That's pretty much what we have to do to win every game. Especially the 2nd paragraph, at least better than 45%.

Tonight. We should try this lineup out maybe we can get off to a better start.I hate small ball but we have to try something else until this team can get healthy.I'm sick of these slow starts, let's get up and down the court faster and let D-Will find the open shooters while Humpty brawls in the paint for rebounds.PLEASE NO PETRO!!!!!

D-Will
Brooks
Morrow
Shawne

We are winning in Utah.

If we don't keep starting Petro we could steal a few games.

I see 7 winnable games out of those listed, but probably more like 3 actual wins in reality.

Kind of a sham how we get a back to back to back on a west coast road trip.
Haven't checked yet, but is there a team in the league that has a back to back to back cross coast road trip?

How about a back to back to back road trip period besides the Lakers wwhich consisted of LAC, GSW and Sacto?

Crazy stuff.

They should have just made this an around 58 game season, maybe 55...

Hey guys Jazz fan here, I got you guys winning at Utah. I guarantee D-wont will go off on us, you guys will learn that Deron really plays amazing for the following games.... @ Dallas (he is a monster when playing in his hometown) , VS CP3 at any time (dominates him) those are the only games I can think of now, but I am sure there is more.

I fully expect @Utah to be added to Derons kill list.

Good luck to you guys anyway

After last night's pep talk and Avery finally ripping into the players for their AAU level play (including Deron), I'd expect us to at least be close in the Wizards and Suns games.

Any time with great big men will destroy us but we definitely have a chance against guard-oriented shooting teams. It all depends on whether our players are willing to play better than 10th graders on the JV team.

Are we @GS, or do they come to NJ? If we're on the road, it's a loss.

If the Nets are @ Warriors, it's a loss.

You'll win in Utah.. Deron will have something to prove and will show up for that.
