Houston Pick Watch

Post#1 » by vincecarter4pres » Mon Jan 30, 2012 3:42 am

I went back 6 or 7 pages and didn't see a thread on this, so...

To start this off I had an interesting question/thought...

We have Houston's first lottery protected, but Houston has a pick swap option with the Knix, so if Houston makes the playoffs but NY misses and winds up say pick 10, what happens?

I mean we have Houston's pick, its not just any first lotto protected, so I'm pretty sure they can't just swap with the Knix and tell us so sorry, here's to next year, cheers!

So if the above is correct and they have to convey the pick to us, does the pick swap option tranfer, meaning we can the decide to swap with NYK?

Or if I'm incorrect, can the Rockets swap with the Knix and leave us doo doo brown out of luck?

Take it to twitter

My guess Is we get top priority.

Houston wouldn't waste a swap for us. They can transfer a swap to next year right ?

I don't think they can delay the swap option.

Already tweeted Larry Coon before I made the thread.

Wait, what? They had a pick swap option last year. This year they just flat out have the Knicks pick, top 5 protected. No swap.

Yeah, I looked that up as soon as you said that.

So, looking good so far that Houston will make the playoffs.

Now hurry up and keep posting so this can hit the second page so we can bury my stupidity.

La, la, Dallas, sa, okc, Nuggets, blazers, grizz, and jazz

That's 9. I can see Utah falling off. And Memphis playing .500

Will be tough

I'll say both Houston and the nets miss the playoffs

Utah is a lock to fall off IMO.

Its definitely going to be tough for them to make it though.

Best chance besides them playing well the rest of the way out is Memphis and San An continuing to plummet.

As we mentioned on ND, these teams never cooperate when you have their pick

Lol, very true.

I hope the Rockets can be like last year's Sixers or Pacers of this year's West though.

Speaking of Ebanks, I talk to this Laker fan in my Chem class and he's telling me how the Lakers could get someone like Kyle Lowry for him.

It's going to take a lot of luck for Houston to make the playoffs and thus give us a pick.

West is too competitive, Memphis is tied for the 9th spot with them. Outside of Utah I don't see another team falling past Houston.

We need to trade this pick for whatever we can at the trade deadline. With our luck, you just know it's going to turn into that 2nd rounder.
