Could you imagine Jennings and Lou in this team?
Would we have any wins?

Lots of Deron haters in the GB...
Even if I'm not a Nets fan, I would still say that DWill DESERVES it...

Dang son. You going in on Mr. Rudolph but he wrote some stuff on D12 coming to the Nets last week.
He's not that credible but no need to do him like that.

I think Granger, Jennings, and Smith got snubbed on the East, not saying who didn't deserve to go though.

Anyone else bummed to see Hibbert's selection as the next guy in line after Bogut, Horford and Lopez? Would've loved to see Lopez and Deron in the allstar game.

I usually find Kenny and Charles to be pretty knowledgable actually, they usually make great points, but their argument about how All-Stars should be selected was totally wrong imo. They said that All-Stars should be selected based on winning basketball...um, no it shouldn't. Being selected is an individual achievement, and it's an award based on how good you are as an individual. Team success shouldn't matter at all. True, you PROBABLY don't have an All-Star caliber player if your team sucks, but that's not always the case...Deron is an example of that. What about Wade when the Heat won 15 games? What about Pierce all those years in Boston? Kobe in LA from 05-07? Chris Paul with NO? Plenty of star players played for crap teams, doesn't mean they didn't deserve All-Star selections.
Kenny Smith said that it's easy to put up big scoring numbers on bad teams, but that actually doesn't make much sense, especially if he watched the Nets at all this season. It's anything but easy for Deron to score. He's talking about average players that look better than they are on bad teams, because somebody has to get the stats. But that's not the case with star players, imo, because if someone is a legit star on a bad team, the defense throws everything at them (which is what Deron's experienced this year), and it can make life very difficult for them.
Then when EJ pointed out that Charles is contradicting himself, because he said Love was an All-Star last year, when the T'Wolves were a crap team, and Charles said that you can't fake rebounding, which is a load of crock. That's probably the easiest thing to fake.
I found myself agreeing with EJ and Shaq to be honest, they were actually saying that you should pick players based on their individual abilities, not just based on how good their team is.

Not to nitpick, but the year Miami won 15 games was the year that Wade was out for most of the year.
Otherwise, I agree

Me too. I always though Brook was gonna be the first Center to play the All-Star game in his draft class...

Lets think hypotethically here, if a guy is averaging say 20-10-5 on a 5-30 team, is he a All-Star? If so, HOW?!?!?!

I think a team's record should play a part in All Star voting, but not nearly the end all/be all that Kenny and Charles were saying.

He played 51 games, so most of the season. An in those games, Miami was 10-41, a .196 winning percentage. So still, they were crap with him as well.
Shameer1016, it's important to understand how that guy is getting 20-10-5 on that 5-30 team. Impact is what matters, how much better is that player making his team? If he was getting 20-10-5 and his team didn't get any better (and you have to look beyond wins and losses, imo, to understand if a team is better or not), then no, I say he's not an All-Star.
But a guy like Deron pretty clearly makes our team a lot better, we're actually an above average offensive team this year, as opposed to last year. Unfortunately, our defense plummeted from a bit below average to dead last, and you can't blame that on Deron, because he's not the one who's anchoring the paint.
T-Mac in 04...he was a legit All-Star, despite the Magic sucking big time. It's because his presence on the court made them a much better team than they actually were.

Let's be real here, you swap Deron with Brandon Jennings or Lou Williams and we're literally what, a 2 or 3 win team?
And when Brook and Brooks come back, still not a ton better because it's not like either of those guys gets the extra out of your other good players.

Granger is shooting 38% for the year and does literally nothing else besides scoring. He's an awful rebounder for a SF and isn't known for his passing. He's not an all-star. Josh Smith got snubbed, no doubt, he's better than Johnson IMO.
