Brooklyn Big Three?
If Howard signs with The Nets in the offseason do you think a trade of Brook Lopez and MarShon Brooks for Monta Ellis and Ekpe Udoh makes sense?
C-Dwight Howard
PF-Kris Humphries
SF-Ekpe Udoh
SG-Monta Ellis
PG-Deron Williams
6th man-Anthony Morrow

Re: Brooklyn Big Three?
Well, since Dwight has absolutely NO outside game I would like to see Dwight and Lopez on the floor at the same time much like Duncan and Robinson. Duncan and Lopez both have good outside games, while Howard and Robinson were down low type centers, with Dwight being superior. Although an upgrade at SG is desperately needed.

Re: Brooklyn Big Three?
I'm not a fan of Monta at all, I don't think he's that good, and him and Deron together wouldn't work that well imo.
I'd rather go for a defensive stud at the SF spot, who can score too. Apparently, Iggy is too much money, as is Gay, presumably. IDK if George or Granger are even available. I would love to have Josh Smith at PF, but idk if that salary works either.
Maybe Tony Allen from the Grizzlies? I really do think that's what's missing from the team, we need a guy that can score at SF, but can also play shut down defense and can guard 3 positions, possibly even 4.

Re: Brooklyn Big Three?
I don't know why we would do monta for brook, a good and healthy brook is way better than 30+ 2-guards in the nba who can put up 20 a night.
ideally
howard
lopez
mkg/barnes if we keep tanking + if we get houston pick we might be able to pick up like a pjIII if his stock keeps falling
brooks
williams
I hope we do manage to deal petro/farmar before the deadline though.

I don't think Monta is good enough to be considered part of a Big 3...

Monta is a good scorer, but I think his height and length (or lack their of) would hurt us come playoff time.
Lopez and Dwight is a huge frontcourt. Deron is already a bull-type of PG.
I can see Wade having a field day with Monta guarding him.

I 100% believe the main aim of the Nets is to create enough cap room to sign Howard Williams and retain Lopez.
Then we will start Brooklyn with the whole twin towers thing going on and if it doesnt work we will flip Lopez for a stud wing or power forward at next years trade deadline

ellis is a player you build around if he falls into your lap, I have no interest in acquiring a 6'2 SG who domiantes the ball. not to say he isn't a very good player, he is, but if you have a chance to be big and athletic at the wing spots, you should probably do that.

Re: Brooklyn Big Three?
Even if we say that Ellis for Brook is relatively even, the addition of Marshon Brooks for Ekpe Udoh pushes this totally in the Warriors' favor. The difference between Ellis and Brook, if even in Ellis' favor, is not Marshon Brooks and Ekpe Udoh does not make up for it, either.
Now, a deal like this, I could debate the merits more reasonably on.
Monta Ellis, Ekpe Udoh, and Dorell Wright for Brook Lopez, Marshon Brooks, and cash or the Miami 2nd rounder or Jordan Williams.
More needs to be added for the Warriors, but I don't know what. It seems like an endless circle, to be honest.
Deron Williams/Sundiata Gaines
Anthony Morrow/Monta Ellis
Dorell Wright/Jeff Taylor with Houston pick
Thomas Robinson or Perry Jones/MMLE signing
Dwight Howard/Ekpe Udoh
Curry/Robinson
Klay Thompson/Marshon Brooks
Marshon Brooks/Brandon Rush
David Lee/Jordan Williams
Brook Lopez/Andris Biedrins
*This would have to be done at the deadline next year because I don't believe you can add another outgoing player on a sign and trade deal unless that changed in the new CBA.

Re: Brooklyn Big Three?
I mentioned Ellis before here somewhere and people didn't seem too keen on it.
I honestly think a glue guy like Mikael Pietrus would be perfect if we kept Deron, signed Howard, and drafted a guy like Thomas Robinson. AK47 would have been nice too.
i'm not going to lie though, Gay would be amazing at that spot and I would give up a lot to get him. Too bad (for us) Gasol has been developing nicely.... b/c Lopez + this year's first rounder would be good be a good start at trying to get Gay.

Re: Brooklyn Big Three?
No thanks on monte ellis. If we are moving lopez to assemble a "Big 3" I'd rather go after a defensive minded athletic wing player. Give me iguodala.
Deron Williams
MarShon Brooks
Andre Iguodala
Thomas Robinson
Dwight Howard
Sundiatta Gaines
Anthony Morrow
Gerald Green
Houston Pick(terrance Jones?)
Sheldon Williams
I think you can build a defensive jaugernaut with Iggy/Robinson/Howard. if we can retain stevenson and play him a the 2 for stretches thats a unit that can get you stops late in games.

Re: Brooklyn Big Three?
I dont think Monta Ellis is a top tier player on a team with Howard and Williams. But, with that said, If Dwight signs with the Nets during the off-season, then watch out word! Because the Nets will have two top 20 picks, one of which could very well be in the top 10. Plus, they have two of the leagues best shooters.
Players whom are not happy with where they are playing or their contract are going to be begging to be traded to the Nets.

Re: Brooklyn Big Three?
Yup, and then we have the assets to get those players through trade.
One of those picks will definitely be top 10 though, have to check, but even with the win last night I think we have the 5th worst record in the league right now.

Think the Kings are 5th we're 4th worst at the minute.
Games pre deadline are Miami, Clippers, Bobcats, Houston, Bucks and Raptors.
We could very easily lose 4/6 there. If we dont trade for Howard we will definately be picking in the top 10 with a good chance of top 5, were just that bad

Farmar(4), petro(3.5), Williams(3) and our lottery pick for iguodala?
that would be nasty
