WT: Deron Williams Won't Opt-In

i never got why knicks fans didn't want d12/deron to pair up in brooklyn. i seem like the only one who was praying d12 came because brooklyn is pretty close to NYC and who would be against an instate rivalry. pretty dissapointing, but I'm not surprised at all compared to most nets fans who were pretty much guranteeing d12 arriving months ago (i hate that type of attitude). anyways, lets hope stern gives you guys a top 3 pick if not then I don't know who to blame more- Billy King or the fans for atrocious attendance.

(6/29/2013)
Pop and Lebron are officially scrubs due to questionable rotations and passive play in crunch time

Major fail, we couldn't even trade him yesterday.

Billy King is one of the worst GM's of all time.

I never expected the Nets to move Deron even if Dwight opted in a couple months earlier.

Well this blows, hopefully the team can finish the season strong and convince him to remain a Net. Not that it matters to me since I dont know if I can support a franchise in Brooklyn, but in the event that I do stick with them Im hoping for the best, as well as for all you guys who have suffered over the years as much as I have. Ill be making my own version of "The Decision" with four hats (Nets, Nuggets, Sixers, Pacers) in front of me and choosing my team like a college kid picking his school. Ill explain in my video why those are the four teams I am debating being a fan of, although it should be obvious why the Nets are on that list

He isnt opting in because he isnt a fool. Only a fool opts in gives up their flexibility. Only a complete JACKASS FOOL would do that. You hear me? A DOUCHE-Y FOOL!

Yeah, but its never good news to hear "I wont opt in" and sound all negative about even staying.

If Howard is a "JACKASS FOOL" I wish I was that stupid. He will be guaranteed 19.3 million next year by opting in, staying with the team/city he loves by opting in and will be guaranteed a 5 year MAX contract in the summer of 2013 by opting in. By hey, that is slave wages according to SAS. I mean obviously Howard is stuck picking cotton for shelter and food for the rest of his life by opting in with the Magic for an extra year.

Oh and what Williams is really saying to the Nets, "Bye, bye".

Magic will probably want a commitment by then or risk going through this entire debacle next season. If Howard signs an extension, he loses money than opting out this season and signing for the 5-year deal the Magic could have given him this summer.

Yeah, see you in a year when Indecision 2013 starts. I don't give a damn if the Nets will be after him again or not, but you could get off your high horse and get the hell off my board.

He said this months ago, doesn't mean he won't resign in the offseason. Makes no sense for him to opt in.

This isn't anything new, people. Deron Williams is about money, and he'll get more money by not opting in.

I think its hilarious that you guys see this as a win. Can you not see he only opted in to stay an extra year, if he was loyal he'd of opted out and resigned with you guys for 5 years on the max.

But nooooooo he choose the 1 year route, do you no why???

BECAUSE HE WANTS TO LEAVE

See you later, go luck with the rebuild, at least we've got good young pieces to build with Lopez, Brooks and Green. What have you got once Howard leaves?

I want to put aside the rest of your rant, and focus on this inaccuracy. ESPN reported yesterday that by waiving his opt-out now, he is only eligible for TWO more years on top of the 12-13 year he opted into. That's 3 total, not the 4 or 5 he could have had by signing elsewhere this summer or re-signing with Orlando. It is foolish, just as enetric said, foolish beyond measure.

Dwight talks about how he's gotten bad advice and the rumors of him letting Dan Fegan are popping up because he doesn't make money on Howard's current contract. Hey, fire him and let him see what any other agent would've told him what he should've done. Hell, hire Dwight's former agent and let Howard see the advice he would've been given.
