New Jersey NetsDeron Williams
MarShon Brooks
Gerald Wallace
Kris Humphries
Shelden Williams
vs.
New Orleans Hornets
For some reason I'm mildly optimistic about the rest of the season. I mourned for two days but let's make a push and just try to win as many games as possible. Give Portland the lowest lotto pick possible!
It starts tonight!
Let's go Nets...

I would actually be excited about watching Wallace play (I think he's a good fit...especially with Morrow starting) if we didn't give up our pick for him...

Forget the pick...
We can't do anything about it. The more you think about it, the more depressed you'll be.
The players on the current Nets team control how valuable that pick is so let's root for them.

i still can't figure out if I want us to make a playoff push or tank for a top 3 pick

We're not going to out-tank Charlotte or New Orleans.
If we win games but still miss the playoffs, there's still a chance (albeit very small) that we jump into the top 3. However, even if we don't get the lotto pick, Portland gets a lower draft pick because we were winning.
If we lose, there's a greater chance that we'll land in that 4-7 range and definitely lose the quality pick.

I'm really looking forward to seeing a decent team on the court tonight or is it just me?
Itll be nice rooting for the team to win because we have nothing to lose. Where as before I know I had a wee bit inside always thinking, who cares if we lose because our pick gets better.
Can't wait for the game

I'll be traveling during the game, but yeah, I can't wait to see the stats and read the recap.

Yeah, the more games they win, the less valuable that pick becomes.
If we tank and somehow get the top 3 pick, we'd have to send a top 2 protected pick in 2013. If we somehow end up with a top 2 pick, we have to send a top 1 protected in 2014, and then an unprotected in 2015. Bottom line, if we somehow end up with our pick in the top 3, we're going to give up future valuable picks, so try as hard as possible to make this pick a late lottery pick, save our future picks, and hey, at least we can see a decent product on the court from now til the end of the season (hopefully).

Well, maybe he's nervous but Wallace looks pretty slow on defense getting blown past several teams, other than that block he's been sub par
and he should look to be more aggressive and attack the basket more offensively, thats what he's good at. In his interview he said he just wants to fit in, i'd rather him try and stand out especially on this team. For the valuable pick we gave up, I want to see more from him especially if we want to sign him for a long term deal
