Last years MVP Derrick Rose has to be the guy IMO.

I wanted to give it to Rose badly, but KB24 takes this one. Kobe not being Top 5 sounds pretty crazy, he has declined a bit while others have risen

Same here.

I want to give it to Rose as well, but Kobe has got to go here. He's still a great player, still can kill in the clutch, and is a great coach :)

EDIT: If CP3 was at 5 and Dirk at 6, I'd have no problem with this list so far.

I wouldn't either. I have yet to encounter someone that can properly explain to me why Rose is the superior player.

Why do you think D-Will is better than Rose?

I'm not a defender of Rose, but I'd like to see if there's a convincing argument for D-Will being better than Rose.

I asked first. Why is Rose better than Deron?

Well, that's just it. There's nothing that is very compelling to me as to why one is better than the other.

We can dispute his MVP and say his team won that for him (as evidenced by their win total without him this year) but there are a number of times where he'd put the finishing touches on an awesome game in the regular season and in the playoffs.

Deron probably has better standout performances this season though.

Both have led their teams to conference finals.

Tbh, it's hard to assess Rose impact on the game, because it's not like he makes his teammates muchb better although he is passing more this season.

At the same time, we know how rough of a season D-Will has had with this terrible team and maybe I've forgotten how good he is with a roster that can actually win.

I think Dirk Was to high IMO, which shifted some players off. But majority ruled it for Dirk, even though I questioned which 11 would chose him over CP3

Because Rose in his 3rd year, I repeat it, 3rd year put up ridiculous numbers for his team, and lead them to the ECF. I love how everyone uses that small sample size this season how his team has a winning record without, but yet they found a :censored: way to lose to us . Only thing I give #8 over Rose is his playmaking ability. Your turn slick.

Ahem, he was absolutely dreadful in last years playoffs. He didn't lead them anywhere. They played a 37 win team in the first round, they played the habitual playoff loser team in the second round and the overall team defense were the reasons why the Bulls made it to the ECF.

He took damn near 30 shots a game in the playoffs and shot under 40% from the field. I repeat, he shot under 40% while taking 30 shots a game.

20+ games is hardly a small sample. Thiboddeau is th Bulls' MVP. He has them playing world class defense. Of course, they are better with Rose, but the fact that they would be a playoff team without him just shows that he isn't the only/main reason why their an elite team.

And who cares if we beat them. We beat the Bulls with Rose twice last year. Besides, they just beat the heat without Rose not a week ago.

Shameer1016 wrote:Only thing I give #8 over Rose is his playmaking ability. Your turn slick.

The ONLY thing? How about:

Better three point shooter
Better mid range shooter
Better at posting up opposing PG's
Better at playing off the ball
Better catch and shoot player
And aside from playmaking, he makes players better. I mean, he had Boozer play like a legit All Star. Boozer in Chicago... ehh, not even close to what he was in Utah.

The only thing Rose does better is attack and finish around the rim. Then they are roughly equal in every other aspect of the game.

This I agree 100% and I'm very critic of Deron. Rose is a SYSTEM-PLAYER, a product of Thibs... (not hating here)

On topic, I voted for Kobe...
