I picked LMA because I believe he is the best player currently on the list, pure and simple.

He's a stud and I'd pick him as the best PF in the NBA right now, bam!! yeh i said, write it down, take a picture...

Aldridge.

I'll be voting for 'Melo in the next round, not that it matters.

I might stand alone on this, but Melo is Top 10 in my opinion.

If he always played the way he played these past three weeks he's a clear top ten player. My problem with Melo is that when he's truly effective the team's ball movement goes to hell. He relies heavily on ISO ball and manages to make players worse. If the offensive game plan isn't set to revolve around him he becomes useless.

I can agree with that, it is one negative part of his game, but its not necessarily a bad thing until he starts chucking the **** out of his teammates. The reasons I see him as Top 10 is because he's one of the best and diverse scorer if not both(some see it), he's one of the clutches players around, rebounds the ball well, and is just that competitor that never gives up, BUUUUUT he kill his team when he chucks and there is no ball movement. Maybe a questionable Top 10, but Top 15 for sure.

Why LMA over Nash?

Nash is a beast, singlehandedly kept the Suns relevant this season. Still a top 5 offensive player in the game. Look at that supporting cast he played with this year, and he had them as a top 10 offense.

The only reason why he's no longer the best offensive player in the league is that age has caught up to him somewhat, and he can't take over and score like he used to (or at least, he's not willing to do that anymore). But still managed 12+ ppg on great efficiency, and did have his moments. The purest point guard in the league imo, moreso than CP3.

To end my "I love Nash" spiel, remember how I said that I think peak CP3 plays at a level that only 3 other PGs have reached? Nash is one of those PGs imo. He's no longer at that level anymore, but he's still somewhat close, which is ridiculous.

So yeah, I'm going with Nash.

LOL, Knix fan infiltration.

I say we go off post votes until Melo is legitimately voted in at some point.

Take the poll out for now.

Ironically, I was going to put in another player who has played the entire season well and is pretty underrated for many people, but due to the fanfare of the Knicks and Melo's post-D'Antoni play, I felt like now was the right time to add him as a legitimate option.

I didn't think he get a reigning endorsement like he's gotten so far but he's been clutch in the biggest stages that regular season can offer and he's been on a scoring tear. In the month of April, 29.8ppg/7.3rpg/3.6apg on 50% FG%/46% 3P%.

All that said, is it enough to outweigh all of the crap that happened at the beginning of the semester?

Pretty sure Dirk wouldn't be #5 if we did that but it's too late now. We'll see how things play out...

I've listed a few post up his good and bad qualities, I think he's Top 10, and since he went on a tear with his 2 best teammates out, I think he deserves Top 10...just my opinion though....and now my turn to piss of a few people

The only reason I changed my vote is because I think Aldridge and Love are really close. I couldn't justify having Aldridge more than a spot higher than Love. So he'll go 11 and Love in my rankings.

Exact reason why people think he's top 10 now. Oh well.

3 weeks of good play does not excuse a season worth of suckiness. OVERALL, Melo is sitting at 23/6/4 on 53% TS...not that impressive.

Why should Melo/LMA/Love go over Nash? Nash destroys all of them as an offensive player. Love and Melo are worse on defense than Nash is. LMA is a very good defender, but FWIW, Nash is +4.6 offensively according to RAPM, LMA is +1.9 on defense. Nash's offense seems to have a much bigger impact than what LMA does defensively. BTW, Nash is +0.5 on defense, and LMA is something like +1.5 on offense. So overall, Nash is at +5.1, LMA is +3.4.

I get that Nash is old, but he's still playing at an elite, superstar level.
