A petition to fight flopping

As a Bulls fan trying to find things to do with myself besides suicide, I decided to start a Change.org petition against flopping in the NBA.

All it took was 300,000 signatures on this site for Bank of America to drop their $5 debit card fee.

If you think, as I do, that flopping is ruining the game, go on there and sign the petition. It takes five seconds. In a couple hours with nothing other than posting on the general board here I have a handful of signatures.

Stern and the NBA obviously don't have to listen to Jeff Van Gundy, but maybe with enough people voicing their displeasure, they'd have to take the issue seriously and look at doing something, anything about it.

While I agree that flopping is a dishonorable practice and muddies up the game, I don't know what the remedy is. MORE instant replay reviews by the officials?

The FAR bigger issue in my mind is the new rule about officials being pretentious, untouchable demigods on the basketball court. You can't even glare or gesture toward the zebras without getting a tech, and forget about making any sort of contact with them! It's maddening; and with the already inferior product that the NBA is trotting out these days, it's making it even harder to watch, since players are being robbed of the ability to naturally react to intense situations. But I digress...

BTW, isn't Rip Hamilton the king of flops?
