Oh! Life of a Nets fan...

With us losing the lottery, and essentially the pick to Portland; what are the possible ramifications of Billy’s KINship to disaster.

Here’s the domino effect:

Losing the pick = losing assets to trade for Dwight
Losing assets to trade for Dwight = could result to Deron’s exit
Losing Deron = makes the trade for Wallace even dumber
As a way to appease Deron = we would need to overpay Wallace
Rewarding Wallace’s former team with the 6th pick = makes them a threat for Deron’s services
With the Hornets winning the Lottery = our FA aspiration Gordon might decide to stay
Should Deron leave = we might end up with Lopez, Brooks & a pile of garbage

So, from our historic 2009-10 season 12-70 record (dead last) with the highest probability of getting the 1st pick in the NBA Draft Lottery, we lucked out and settled for 3rd (Derrick Favors)

Middle of season 2010-11, we decided to trade 3rd pick (Favors) plus 2011 1st pick for Deron Wiliams .

Come Lottery, with the 6th worse record, our pick was somehow able to climb to 3rd, in a year where we DON’T need to be lucky.

This year, having the 6th worse record AGAIN, lady luck frowned upon us this time as we were awarded the 6th pick which we in turn awarded to Portland due to BK’s excellent protection strategy (Top 3)

So this potentially mean that we gave up:
2010 3rd overall pick
2011 3rd overall pick
2012 6th overall pick (could be higher if not for the CRASHed trade)

To the ff:

Deron Williams rental
Gerald Wallace rental

Great job Billy King! (I hope you get fired!)

The only assets left to work with are:

Brook Lopez
MarShon Brooks
2013 picks
Cap space (to sign who?)

Has this franchise seen enough misery?

Is the fan base (all 15 of us) set for another disappointment?

I’ve been a very optimistic fan throughout these years; it’s about time to be a pessimist… who knows it might work in our favor this time...

To put a little substance behind the rant, I have a few questions: (Worse-case scenario, assuming DWill walks)

1. How do we recover from this?
2. What's the next logical step?

Brooklyn, here we come!!!

Maybe they should have changed the Nets name.

Ok now let's think positive.

We re-sign D-Will
We re-sign Brook
We re-sign Wallace
We re-sign Green
We sign KG and Kristic
We trade Petro for a brown paper bag lit on fire filled with sheet

D-Will/Farmar
Morrow/Brooks
Wallace/Green
KG/JWilly
Lopez/Kristic

Thats a 4-5 seed in the East next season.

Don't forget about AK. AK at PF is more likely than KG.

If LBJ is getting killed and tired playing PF, I can only imagine what would happen to AK.

So KG comes to you for 2.5m a year? Dunno but I'd think he'd stay a Celtic at that price. IF he went ringchasing I could see him signing in LA for the 3m, but what would be epic would be him going back to Minny and lighting the defensive fire in KLove, that would be some redeem story

Yeah, I don't think KG would come here for that price.

Then provide a better option at PF, because KG isn't likely to come here unless Boston blows up their core.

I didn't say it wouldn't happen, but I am saying I don't look forward to him playing PF full-time.

Wow just randomly reading posts & that post by Joserizal is depressing as sh*t. I feel bad for you guys & thought you guys woulda been in the playoff race if healthy.

KG isn't gonna sign here sorry.. He's loyal & wantsa be in Boston. If not maybe LA (he lives there) doubt Minny cause he said everythings different there anyways now. I don't think he'll go to BK honestly.

You back court is good. Will, Brooks, Morrow & Farmar is a solid 4 guard rotation. Throw in Wallace & Green that's a good 6 now. Lopez will be back. I hope Humphries comes to boston, we need him lmao. But if you guys can lure Illysova, Asik & any combo of another big - Jordan Hill, DJ White you guys would really be a playoff team.

Williams / Farmar
Brooks / Morrow / James
Wallace / Green
Ilyasova / White / Williams
Lopez / Asik

That's a legit 10 deep young team who can grow. Only ppl who won't get better in Dwill, Morrow & GW really. Brooks & Ilyasova will be getting better everygame. Green & White are still young. DWill's good enough to take that team into a playoff run. Goodluck fellas, hope you guys do well in Brooklyn.

Eh KG has been about getting his money wherever he's gone, if there's a wide gap between what he wants and what the Celtics are willing to pay he'll bolt.

It's happened before with other presumably "loyal" players... I'd still give Boston the best chance at signing him though since it doesn't look like they're willing to hit RESET.

You can have Humphries, but I want no part in signing Ilyasova. I'd rather the team go after Eric Gordon. I could live with a small lineup like:

Lopez
Wallace
Green
Gordon
Deron
