What would you have done with #6?

Id trade brooks and the rockets pick to Cleveland for Thomas Robinson.
I thought there was a dropoff after the top 5/6(Drummond is the 6th if you're so inclined)
Then I'd sign Gerald Wallace who opted out of his contract with the Portland trail blazers
I'd obviously explore a josh smooth trade as well but that's been discussed

Draft either Drummond or Barnes and hope Orlando would be interested for a package together with Brooks, Lopez & Houston 2013 1st...

I assumed you meant if we hadnt dealt it?
I would have drafted Barnes. Wild. He was a hot subject on this board for 2 years BEFORE he ever played a single college game and he was available at our spot????
Havent checked the board yet to see just how unhappy some of you guys were to see him there.

I highly doubt we would have had the 6xth, probably would have been the 1st or the 4th and if anything it was nearly guaranteed to be no later then 5th.
Gross.
But assuming we had the 6 and couldn't trade up to 2 or 3 and take Robinson or Beal?
I'm trading back a few spots and taking Lamb, probably something like sliding to 10 where New Orleans sends Aminu to a 3rd team, we send Petro there as well and they send a unguaranteed contract to us, maybe Minny sends Brad Miller here.

The thread title should read what would you have done with our top 3 pick?
Murphy's law dictates that if we hadn't of traded for Wallace we would've ended up with Davis.

Drafted Barnes and then tried to package him for Dwight

I would have traded it on draft day for Shawn Marion.

I'm convinced we would have been drafting for the Magic if we had that pick. So I really wouldn't care who we took.
That along with Brooks and other picks would probably go to Orlando. And I don't think we would even have had to include Lopez in the deal because the Magic don't really want him.

I agree. I think maybe it would have been Drummond, and then had him packaged in a deal including Lopez and Brooks for Howard.
I also wouldn't have minded trading it down for a current player and taking Lamb later on.

Yup, this is likely as well, at least if it were top 5, which is was nearly guaranteed to have been.
I want to throw up.

I wonder what it would've taken to move up a spot.

For you Billy King, a 2014 Top 2 Unprotected pick!

Billy King: Oh no, I'm not falling for that again! This time, I want a third round pick.
Other GM: How about three third round picks?
Billy King: Sure!
Sucker!

Unless it was the #1 pick...I dont agree with that statement. Orlando clearly has no clue what they are doing about Dwight right now. There was no scenario as I see it where he was going to be traded on draft night.
Now...do I agree that IF we finally made a trade with Orlando...say in a few weeks that the pick would be part o the deal? Yes. But we wouldnt have been drafting for them...and possibly not even with the #1.

I'd add to this that Orlando HAD no idea what they were doing during the season as well. Upper management seemed hellbent on keeping Howard, while Otis and SVG wanted him gone. As long as the guys writing checks don't are active participants in what goes on, they call the shots.

Come on now, you guys buying into this?
Of course they didn't move Dwight last night, the offers were all poop.
What a bunch of mid teens picks?
If we had say the 3rd overall pick, chances are Billy feverishly attempts to get an addition couple picks for Brooks, Morrow, dumps Petro, gets back an unguaranteed, trades said package and 2 future picks for Dwight and the drama's over.
If we waited it was because we aren't sure what his back looked like.
I don't see Orlando looking for the mythical better deal, unless they are really enamored with Bynum and Dwight is really considering the Lakers.
