Just found out that Tyshawn's coach at Kansas Bill Self is Deron's former coach at Illinois...Interesting

I may or may not be in the minority with this selection--but I like it a lot. It's evidence that the NETS do recognize talent when they see it. That is exactly what Tyshawn has "talent". He's a solid on both ends of the floor as well. There really isn't much I do not like about him honestly.

He went to college all 4 years--played for one of the top 5 coaches in NCAA. He has won a national championship (can that be said about any current NET)? All I'm saying is he is bringing some credibility to the team. I'm welcoming him with open arms.

Yea hes a rook- but he's going to surpass Farmar's minutes because of the type of impact he makes once he is on the floor. I'm not saying he doesn't have his flaws-but if he can get some PT I expect some decent numbers. All it cost was cash baby... BROOKLYN STANDUP!!

And Billy don't think for 1 second this lets you off the hook for all your critical mistakes.
OKC Thunder fan, too.

I'm not mad at the pick in concept even though I'm not a big Taylor fan, but it wasn't fun seeing teams buying 2nds before our pick with some of the players that went off the board and depending on the protection of that Philly pick I would have liked to have seen the Houston pick sent and us to have had that pick as well.

Where we picked there were still a few guys I liked better, but it's so late in the draft these picks are real crap shoots and Tyshawn is definitely a guy who should at worst make the roster for the whole year.

Oh and if Farmar's still on this roster I don't see how Taylor surpasses him for minutes.

I am not a Farmar fan either, but he's still a legit NBA rotation player.

Billy King is actually pretty good at drafting so I'm expecting Tyshawn to be a decent player.

I don't know if he'll get minutes though.

I'm hoping that Farmar opts out. That'll free up additional capspace, and no matter what happens with Deron, we don't need Jordan. If he stay, Kidd is coming with him, book it. TT would then be the 3rd-stringer, and all we would need. If Deron goes elsewhere, we might as well rebuild, and Taylor should be a fine backup for those purposes.

As a Jayhawk and Nets fan, I am uniquely tied to Tyshawn, and I hope he really blossoms in an NBA setting. He has a puncher's chance to become a VERY poor-man's Russell Westbrook. More likely, though, he ends up a Jeff McInnis type: good size and length for a combo guard, jack of all trades, kind of a space cadet.

Didn't really have a strong reaction to Taylor going into or coming out of the draft but I do love his potential to contribute on the defensive end. Hopefully he's got his head on straight and he can be like Eric Maynor.

Also, I love the added benefit of this pick potentially influencing Farmar to opt out.
