What's your stance on bandwagon fans?
Now with the move to Brooklyn and the possibility of having a super team how do you feel about all the suddenly new Nets fans we are going to have?

You mean like ppl that joined the site 2 weeks ago?? ..just kidding.. but it's to be expected. moving to a new city there's always going to be a bunch of bandwagoners especially with the potential contender the Nets are putting together this offseason. It happens but we'll always know who was here from through the rough times. As long as the Barclays Center is filled and loud I dont mind.

Re: What's your stance on bandwagon fans?
Im all for bandwagon fans, makes no difference to me apart from the fact it confirms were a contender & heading the right direction.
We should change our sigs so we all match and can see the "true" Nets fans by changing our sigs to, "I survived 12-70"
haha only joking obviously

It is what it is, some of them will turn into real fans others will hop off and on as things get bad / good.

It means the Nets are doing something right for the first time in their existence

Part of me says "I'll take all the fans we can get". Then the other part of me say "screw them!"

exactly this. The only way the arena is going to get killed is from Bandwagon fans. Who cares about em as long as they are not annoying even thought most of them are.Wonderllama wrote:It means the Nets are doing something right for the first time in their existence

Re: What's your stance on bandwagon fans?
When a team gets good, bandwagon fans will come out of the woodworks. It's just that simple.
I honestly couldn't care less. As long as they know their Nets history, then I won't call them out.
After all, most of us were bandwagon fans at some point. I jumped on the bandwagon as a 10 year old kid when I discovered Drazen Petrovic. Others came when we got JKidd. More came when we made back to back finals or landed Vince Carter.
Either way, bandwagon fans come and go. The true fans fight through the stuggles which makes the good times are just that much sweeter.

For bandwagon fans who post here, I only ask that they come here willing to take-in and learn how we post on this board to become quality posters with quality posts and camaraderie with each other. You guys have no idea how great it feels not to add stress when jj and I leave the board for an hour or two for work or personal affairs.

Good point. I probably started watching the nets when I was around 10 and one of the few premium channels I had on tv was the YES network, so I guess out of necessity I became a nets fan. It also helped that the nets weren't terrible back then, they had kidd/kmart/jefferson.

Let them come. The team is moving to a new location, so they have a legitimate reason to change over. And to be honest, this board could use more traffic.

I'll declare myself as a bandwagoner now. I use to post on the Nets board at basketballforums.net back in the day.

I'm not gonna lie the reason I started to like the Nets was because a friend of mine back in the day chose the Spurs to win the finals and i decided to be a d*ck and root for the Nets to piss him off. Since that day I began following the Nets.
