Where would Lopez rank among gm's?

Post#1 » by AntwanBoldin » Fri Jul 13, 2012 9:15 pm

All things considered how would they be drafted?

Let's start at 2 and I think chandler would go ahead of Bynum. A good number of them would be scared off by the injuries and you know the whole being a douchhebag thing

2. Tyson chandler
3. Bynum
4. Bogut
5. Gasol
6. Lopez

Ahh to think if this thread was to be posted in the GB. Lopez would be at #20.

I can't even read what the crap they spew there anymore.

Sorry I didn't have anything positive to contribute to this conversation

How could you put Bynum that low with his injuries, then not put Bogut further down. Chandler is getting old. Think about age.

2. Bynum
3. Gasol
4. Chandler
5. Lopez
6. Cousins
7. Bogut

Different gm's want different things. Some want the mature respectability of a chandler over the brash loudmouth with potential like cousins or bynum

Also a shoulder injury is way less serious than totally wrecked knees on an unskilled big

among backup centers... in the d-league.

I've never seen such vitriolic underrating of a player. Why do they hate him so? The 6rpg thing?

Chandler #2? LOL. He's a good player and definitely top 10, but two years ago he wouldn't have been in your top 15.

Right now there are at least 15 guys that play at starting C on their teams that are better than Lopez

Without any order

Horford
Garnett
Noah
Kaman
Monroe
Bogut
Hibbert
Bynum
Gasol
Chandler
Howard
Cousins
Duncan
Bargnani
Jefferson
NenĂª

So, cutting guys older or with less potential, or guys in bad deals, and you got the list you ask for

Howard
Bynum
Horford
Chandler
Bogut
Gasol
Jefferson
Bargnani
Hibbert
Cousins
Monroe

So... he's clearly out of the top10, even if you put Horford and Andrea as PF and wipe them out, you have 9 better C prospects/players than Lopez.

Also, Lopez max.deal is really awful.

Jefferson and Bargnani? I'm not a Lopez apologist, I said the team should have traded him in place of the package for Melo last year, but Jefferson and Bargnani? Don't be ridiculous. I'm even giving the benefit of the doubt and saying that Monroe, Hibbert and Cousins are definitively better than him, but Jefferson and Bargnani? Jesus.

Kaman was an All Star 2 years ago, he had problems but, the level that he showed in the past is way above the Lopez level we have seen.

I'm not a Jefferson fan, but this year he plays like an All Star, being really effective in a PO team, the best Lopez season was 10-11 in a team that lose 58 **** games! what did he prove to be better than Jefferson?

Bargnani is a special case, he has the talent to be determinant, but he only shows it in flashes, but since 10, he's been regular without Bosh, and this year at the beginning, with Toronto being in PO before he get injured, he was playing at an All Star level for sure.

I've bookmarked this post because Lopez is going to shove this list down your throat.

Well, if he really proves himself, then the list would change... what's the matter?

Cousins doesn't have an argument either. The only thing he does better than Lopez is rebound. He's a worse offensive and defensive player. Ditto with Monroe.

So taking Jefferson, Bargnani, Kaman, Monroe, and Cousins out:

-Horford
-Garnett
-Noah
-Bogut
-Hibbert
-Bynum
-Gasol
-Chandler
-Howard
-Duncan
-Nene

Then you consider the fact that he has a great argument over guys like Horford, Noah, Bogut (because he's never healthy), Hibbert, Gasol, and Chandler. Then you also consider that Nene is a PF. So Lopez has a legit argument for top 5-11.

And that's Lopez as is...if he brings his rebounding back up to snuff, and he at least becomes average defensively, he's definitely top 5.

The thing is most Nets fan have already seen Brook prove himself. People dismiss his play in previous seasons because he was playing on bad team. People who watched him play night in night saw him beating double teams, using slow but highly effective footwork (he covers ground), demonstrating one of the softest touches I've seen (on hooks and half hooks especially). putting fouls on guys, trailing on fast breaks and doing pretty much everything you could ask of a big on offense. Admittedly his passing and pass decision making needs to improve.

What's the matter? You seem like an open minded guy, but for the most part posters are telling us that Lopez is terrible. So we're all a little sensitive on the matter and tired of defending him against uninformed (stat sheet reading) bias.

I'm not gonna ridicule you because it doesnt appear as if you're trying to troll.. I think you actually believe this. So this is what we're gonna do, I want you to give me a reasonable argument (using stats, overall abilities, accolades etc.) as to why you think Bargnani is better than Lopez. After you do I'll give you my counterpoint and move on with another name on that list. You up to it?
