Nets Player You're Rooting for the Most this Season
I'm pretty sure the default answer for most people will be Brook Lopez, because he's getting a ton of hate, but I wanted to see if you guys are rooting for others even more so.
For me, while I really want to see Lopez tear it up this season, I really really want Teletovic to play well. I already know what D-Will, JJ, and Lopez bring to the table (and it will be interesting seeing them put it all together) but I feel like Tele's role is very important to the success of this team.
If he can play the stretch 4 role and play even almost as good as he is in Europe, this team becomes very scary since we can hurt opponents from all positions.
If Tele doesn't play or doesn't get the time, I see us maxing out as 2nd round team if we have HCA or a first round team if we don't. But if Tele comes over and beasts, it's really hard to stop 3 offensive weapons on a team, let alone 4. I feel like Tele has the potential to be the piece that kicks us into the next gear of offensive firepower.
In short, I'm rooting for Lopez and Teletovic the most, followed by D-Will because he's been getting a lot of hate too.

I second this. I thought Brook was gonna have a huge year last year and he looked very promising in preseason before he went down as well as the games he actually did play in. Some of the players that people on the GB put in front of him is downright disrespectful and i want to see him shut the clueless haters up.

1st) Teletovic: Hopefully he explodes on the scene, I'm really hype to see him play.
2nd) Brook: Because I want him to shut all the haters up plus I want his stock to build just in case we can get Dwight.
3rd) Tie between Joe Johnson and Gerald Wallace: Hopefully Joe will come in and fit in on his time and his career would be revitalized because of this new team and new location.
I know Gerald Wallace isn't the player he was in his Bobcat days but as long as he defends, rebounds and gets a good 8-12 shots a game I'm sure he'll do good

Nets Player You're Rooting for the Most this Season
Like you say the obvious answer is Lopez but I actually am rooting for Deron Williams.
He has been disrespected in a big way by most fans who said he didn't deserve to be an All Star last season while also some people believe he isn't a top 5 pg.
If I'm honest I believe Williams switched off last season and only turned up for a few games last season and when he did he was breathtaking. Games that come to mind are Sixers away and Knicks away. You can see when he is motivated and going flat out he has a wee bounce in his dribble and looks sharp as hell.
This season I honestly think Deron Williams will show how he is now the best point guard in the NBA. He's going to have some huge assist numbers this season due to have good players around him. Now we don't need him to score at all which makes Williams twice as dangerous as before.
He will get the pick and roll going with Lopez and also will have a lethal pick and pop game with Teletovic who will be amazing for us. I've seen Teletovic play and he will be be very dangerous for us due to only being at best 4th option on offence behind Lopez, Johnson and Williams. He's got a fantastic shot with a quick, high release that he can get off on anyone, much like Dirk (I'm not trying to say he's as good as Dirk obviously but just the same type of game). Teletovic has a good post game as well so he's not just a stretch four and im hoping he takes over as our starting PF sooner rather than later into the season.
Lopez will be huge this year and he'll be an All Star if he remains healthy, which actually will determine how our season turns out.

if i'm honest, brook and gerald are the only nets i really even like at this point, beyond just the basic level of rooting for players on your favorite team. so, yeah, brook.

lopez is the no brainer (and my #1 personally), but i cant believe no one has mentioned marshon brooks!
some time back on this board, i said marshon has the moves and look of a young kobe. some illiterate proceeded to attack me and tell me i was crazy. another idiot said that marshon has "reached his ceiling" and has done all he can do, which, he explained, was why the nets were shopping him so hard (according to this person anyway). i dont know why people arent giving him a chance after 1 year in the league. hes shown lots of potential, and i believe at the very least, he can be very productive off the bench

Kris Humphries and Brook Lopez, especially Brook. I want so badly for him to become at least a perennial 18-9 guy the way I know that he can be.

Has to be JJ. Already ordered a jersey-shirt of his. Got to show the new guy a lot of love in his first season so he feels comfortable.

I am an Atlanta Hawks fan... and a fan of Joe Johnson as well. I believe it was unfair of how much hate JJ has recieved because of his contract. He is one of the best players in the League as nets fans will find out. he just isn't a vocal leader. but you won't need him to be you have D-will for that.
JJ AKA the Silent Assassin plays hard, plays hurt (and still is deadly when hurt), and plays without complaint.
JJ was the only free agent willing to come to the Hawks when they where lowly and he made us relevant. so for that I will all ways be a fan of his. so I am rooting for him the most as well as the Nets, when they are not playing the Hawks that is.
enjoy JJ!!!!!!!!

Re: Nets Player You're Rooting for the Most this Season
besides the obvious brook
Has to be Joe Johnson here, he needs to prove hes worth that money. Last year he was coasting through the season taking it easy, this needs to be an all-star year, like i want to see his best season in a long time on both ends of the floor. He is still a very solid capable defender, if we clamp down on defense i think we can be a GREAT defensive-first team. I wanna see joe johnson work out of the post a little more this year and deron can obviously set him up for easy 3's but i think he will do well.

Johan Petro. Sorry, spending too much time on Twitter.
Brook Lopez. We know what Deron can do, same with Joe. But Lopez is the third piece that needs to explode onto the scene for this team to be what they want to be...whether it's with him or trading him to Orlando.

I agree with your points, but Joe Johnson is never going to be worth that kind of money.

Unless he becomes LeBron James all of a sudden...
If only LeBron was a free agent at some point, he would have definitely picked us!
