I <3 Ichiro. The best bargain trade Cashman (who didn't even want to do it, go figure) has done in a LONG time.

He pulled a rabbit out of a hat...one of his best...
Last night was torture...
Andy knew walking off the field how important that 3rd run was, and it was...the game.

Girardi has to be the worst at setting up a lineup, right?
I mean, I love A-Rod but he hasn't shown any power at all since coming back from the DL... Cano HAS to be the 3rd hitter. And the crapfest that is Swisher hitting 5th? Has Girardi even seen his what averages in the playoffs throughout his career? He's abysmal, move him down to 7th or 8th. Move up Granderson to hit 6th, it doesnt matter that he strikes out 17 times a game, he hit 40 something homruns... he's capable of turning the game around with one swing.
Jeter
Ichiro
Cano
A-Rod
Teixeira
Granderson
Swisher
Martin
Nunez

I'm not sure if it's just because of the New York spotlight, but Girardi is the worst "micromanaging" manager I've ever seen.

I hate Girardi but there are worse tactical managers in baseball and he may actually be one of the better ones in this year's playoffs.
Moving A-Rod any lower than the 5 hole is pure knee-jerk. Yankees should have won both games but they've had some pretty bad luck. Really, really don't want to lose game 3 for obvious reasons but also because I don't trust Hughes in game 4 at home. Though I guess CC would pitch on short rest if we were down 2-1.

A-Rod batting third tonight, as he should be.
If you're looking for a manager that's worse than Girardi, watch this Cardinals/Nationals game.

I would personally like to see Ichiro and Jeter flipped and Cano and Arod flipped.
I prefer:
Ichiro
Jeter
Cano
Arod

I disagree with the "should be" comment. He shouldn't be getting more AB's than the best hitter on the team. And I know he serves as protection for A-Rod right now and that he'll get intentionally walked more often, but at least it puts a man on base and puts things in motion for this anemic offense.

I can see that, and would be fine with Cano or A-Rod in the third/four spot for this series. If Ichiro is going to bat second, it makes sense splitting the lefties since all the managers think the world will blow up if they put 2 left-handed batters back-to-back in a lineup. Plus, I thought A-Rod had good at-bats against Chen (as opposed to Hammel) and Gonzalez has the same velocity/pitch usage.
Eh, I don't know where you get it is anaemic. The offense scored as many runs as any team this year despite struggling with RISP all year. They had like, what, 14 base runners or something in game 2?
Edit:
Girardi says if batted Cano 3rd, would have to bat Ichiro 1, Jeter 2, to avoid stacking left-handers
Too predictable lol

Yankees need to get their sh*t together, This whole not being able to get runners in scoring position home is pissing me off and its going to bite them in the ass. Also someone needs to tell Texieria to stop being a pu***y and hustle.

Great result...but dont you hate it when Girardi does something to make himself look better than he is?

Come on you have to give him credit in that spot...A-Rod has never been pinched hit for in his career, difficult decision, though Girardi even stated around the 7th inning he was sizing things up for this pinch hit...
I know there a large percentage of die hard yankee fans who feel he micro manages and does too much whether pitching, batting, etc...when it all comes down to it, the players on the field have to get the job done...I am one of those fans who is on the fence w/ Girardi as a manager...I go back and forth and its definitely a love hate relationship...maybe because he was a player so recently, I dunno...honestly, I do not believe Torre could of had a better record with this team or could of done that much better of a job than what Girardi has done so far this year...
But hey, I completely understand your feelings, Girardi has never grown on me, I just have become numb to his managing...
btw, I stayed up watching the Oakland game, wow, the late inning heroics didnt stop last night...

Ibansanity was amazing to watch. The look on the faces in the orioles dugout was priceless.
I gotta give Joe credit for having the balls to make a move like that, I don't think anyone really make that move in the 12th inning no less.

Lol...see I didnt do a good job of conveying what I was thinking...and that was my concern.
My point was...I give Girardi HUUUUUGE props for that move. He deserves it. My point was, overall I tend to dislike a lot of Girardi choices. Especially lineup. And here he makes a bold all or nothing move and it not only pays off...its has a one in a million great result. it was the kind of a result that when you turn to someone you know and say..."eh, I have never really loved Girradi's lineup choices, or in game moves". And they turn to you and say, "how can you say that? IBANEEZ FOR AROD!"
You know what I mean? its one of those things that gets played as a trump card later in a debate. So my point was...great move, loved the result...but damn. Now we have to have THIS conversation! You know what I mean?
As for Torre....I grew tired of Torre and felt he should have gone a few years earlier than he did. I was so tired of his favoritism with certain players. Especially Jeter. There were many times I felt it Jeter should have been moved in the lineup for a stretch and didnt. But...now I feel the same way about Girardi at times.
Thee were other issues I had with Torre...but you wont here me yearn for the good old days. And, I dont hate Girardi or anything. I like him.

Well...losing in extra innings and Jeter's injury looks serious.

Girardi at the press conference just stated Jeter out for the rest of the playoffs with a fractured ankle.
