Police sources have confirmed that a member of the Brooklyn Nets basketball team and his associates are being questioned in connection with a sexual assault that allegedly happened inside a Philadelphia hotel.

According to sources, a 21-year-old female filed a complaint alleging that she was sexually assaulted inside the Four Seasons Hotel in Center City at about 4 a.m. Tuesday.

The female complainant was taken to an area hospital for an examination. Investigators are waiting to question the woman before any decision will be made on potential charges.

Sources say the unnamed player and his associates were taken to the Special Victims Unit for further questioning.

The NBC affiliate in Philly is now reporting that the unnamed Net was in the suite, not the actual room where the alleged assault happened

Details already starting to emerge. Let me be an optimist and hope first these are false accusations. Then if they are real, it wasn't an actual rape or something truly awful like that and was only a groping or whatever. And then to be a little insensitive, that if as this says the player wasn't in the room not only was he unaware, but he was knocked out sleeping as all this awfulness went down.

I'm surprised we aren't seeing more headlines like this as NBA players are targets. Best to just let the details emerge before speculating too much. But at the same time we all know the culture of groupies at players hotel rooms late at night. But it could have been an employee of the hotel... who knows... so its just wait and see right now.

Damn! This is what we don't need as a team. Hope none of this is true.

Maybe it's Avery trying to set somebody up. :D

In all seriousness I don't like any speculation when it comes to stuff like this. I hope the conclusion is false and pushed to the side.

Also, I hope going forward the team carries themselves like a professional, because there are many situations that arise to knock you of course.

Let me first say IF these accusations turn out to be true my thoughts go out to the victim.

But, the reality of the situation is, no matter if they are true or not, whether it was something truly awful and forced or just a drunken titty grab or it's false accusations of an embarrassed groupie or an attempted money grab, just the mention of this is guilty until proven innocent and then still guilty by association til death does you part.

sounds like the player isn't the one that is accused of the assault, was just in the suite when it happened.. Brought in for questioning isn't the same as being accused. Probably asking what they know about the situation.

I agree with everything you just said.

Philadelphia Police are investigating a possible sexual assault inside a swanky Philadelphia hotel overnight.

Police tell NBC10 that a woman was taken from the Four Seasons Hotel on 18th and the Benjamin Franklin Parkway to a local hospital just before 4 a.m. The woman told police she was raped by someone inside the hotel, according to investigators.

They are questioning a man inside a Four Season's hotel room regarding the incident. Police also say a Brooklyn Nets player was in the hotel suite at the time of the alleged incident but was not in the bedroom where it may have occurred. The Nets are scheduled to play the 76ers tonight at 7 p.m.

Investigators say they are interviewing multiple witnesses, including the NBA player.

We'll keep you updated with details as they become available.

Blatche has confirmed it was him and said he wasn't in the same room.

I don't even like the fact he's associating with idiots at 5am on a game night in a year where he's trying to show he's matured.

The only positive of this situation for Brooklyn and yeh I'll be the **** to say it, is no one is giving Blatche a large long term deal next season after this.

Which means its going to be easier to keep a hold of Blatche with another deal next season which would give us his bird rights at the end of next season.

Amazing that Blatche says he's OK with no thought for the victim.

That better mean this is shammed up charges or you see where this dude's head is still at just IRL as an in general.

And yeah, 4AM partying it up before game night when you're A) trying to show you changed and B) your team is finally seeming to turn a corner?

Oh and hanging with **** ing derelicts that might even rape a chick? Some 41 year old grimy hood dude or scumbag lawyer, which he is probably one of the two?

Come on man, what's this dude's problem?

All that praise I just gave him in the other thread... you go back to my initial concerns and this was absolutely it to a mother **** ing T.

He has the ability to divide and ruin the locker room.

What happens now if they decide to cut him and half the team is like, "Nah man, that's my dude! Love that dude and he's playing so good! He wasn't even in the room, he did nothing wrong!" And then the other half of the locker room are like, "This clown ass bitch is up at 4AM getting liquored up with strippers with some creepy 41 year old, he's hosting parties at clubs on game nights, he jocks it on the court, cut him now!"

Here. We. Go.

I believe Blatche about him not doing it. I'm just upset he was partying at 4am on a game night. He's been doing so good of keeping his name out of the papers and media it's no reason to give them fuel. Learn from this mistake and hopefully he can move on and not make it habit.

His contract was guaranteed for the season last night.

Doesn't look good when you celebrate that the night before a game till 5am while your friends are alleged to be raping a girl next door to you.

Makes you wonder how many players do party on game nights but we don't find out about it.

4 AM on the day of a game...lock your suite door, clear the suite, and go the :censored: to sleep.

You guys should be thrilled... player not a suspect. NBA games are late and players stay up late. I haven't even read anything referencing that he was even drinking. He could still get lots of rest before the game. Its just how it happens... these guys generally don't go to bed early.

Unless he's convicted, this would have little to no effect on his contract next year, especially considering the fact that he didn't do it.
