Damion James is back

Post#1 » by HelloBrooklyn » Mon Jan 14, 2013 3:02 am

Has all the physical tools but he sucks.

He was a good rebounder and gives a 100%.

However, he has no hands, no ball-handling skills....

I hope he improve that part of his game or else he will never get a job in the NBA again.

+ Love his mentality, attitude, and athleticism.

- Has no basketball skills whatsoever and shown no improvement.

I think some of the criticism on him last season was a little harsh. Not very skilled, but a pretty good player to get on a 10 day contract. We need players who can run the fast break well.

I remember trading up for this guy since the FO were so high on him. I hope this second opportunity will inspire him to do better...

I remember some asshat having a draft day meltdown that night. I think it was Rich. What a jerk.

I think it was VC4P and his love affair with Jordan Hamilton.

Jordan Hamilton was the year after. It was me and Vince, Vince for the player, me for what Thorn traded to get him.

One Wizard season from Jordan Crawford was way way better than Damion Jones' entire tenure with this team... what a waste.

Aww ish, don't make me break the thread out, it was mainly to do with trading the 2nd when it was turned around and traded by Atlanta for cash and then the 1st was traded to Washington.

And then I don't think we bought any picks.

That whole draft was a disaster. They missed trading up a little higher to get a couple actual good players IIRC as well.

And no, I was not a big James fan either.

For the record I'm not ready to write Jordan Hamilton off either. He's on my list of players to come out of nowhere over the next couple years and be big minute rotation players.

No, they didn't buy any picks. Thorn was so used to have zero money to send, he didn't use Proky's for that draft. Thorn was just a disaster on draft night, really very little other than Brook over the last couple of years he was here.

Ryan Anderson was a great pick haha.

I really liked the T Will pick too, who knew he was such a window licker?
Well I guess really it was his job to figure that out before the draft and he missed on a few super nice players taking him at 11. Lawson, Holiday and Teague.

I remember how everyone was so enamored with Sean Williams... Only a handful were disappointed with the pick.

I always wanted Splitter.

Go back and watch some Louisville games with him and Earl Clark. You could see it there.

Actually I watched a lot of the Ville that year and the year before. Williams was their runaway best player with straight elite athleticism and a really diverse skill set.

He's definitely a case of an ultra talented player who ruined his own very likely long career as an above average starter cause he lacks a brain.

I mean it was no surprise that he was a little aloof, he had issues shooting and drawing fouls and his BBIQ left something to be desired at times, but he wasn't straight dumb on the court and didn't seem like he was going to be some massive problem off it at the time.

Kid really could have been a hell of a player.
