Brook Lopez - All Star Snub

Post#1 » by Keith Van Horn » Fri Jan 25, 2013 12:27 am

Eastern All Star reserve list just came out... not a single Net on the list.

Brook Lopez was absolutely deserving of a spot. 18.6, 7.4 rpg, 2.1 bpg. Third best team in the east.

I can understand Deron not making it, and I thought Johnson might sneak in. But Lopez not making it is a shock to me.

The guys on TNT said the Nets might not have been as heavily considered b/c of the Avery Johnson situation. Why the hell should that affect Lopez?

edit -- They just mentioned on TNT that sometimes coaches will stick up for each other, so by the coaches not voting in any Net they were sticking it to them for Avery Johnson. What a classless way to go about voting. :x

I though about what the TNT panel said. I'm pretty sure it had something to do with the firing of Avery. No matter how deserving it was . Avery deserved to be canned . Doesn't matter though they're angry .

Now i really want to get the best Record in the East by All-Star break and PJ coaching the East even though none of his players made it.

Why does it matter? Numbers don't lie and real fan know who's good and who's not.

Because he deserves it. He's the best player on the third best team in the eastern conference.... not the best player on the 13th ranked team (Irving) in the conference. When he went down for a small stretch a month ago, the team struggled so badly. He's having a career year. He's improved his game all around, especially his defense. He's the best center in the east.

He really deserved it.

im thrilled lopez, johnson, and williams didnt make it... maybe it will light a fire under their arses and they will stop playing like the primadonna pansies they have been the past 4-5 games. maybe they will actually play with intensity and effort for 48 minutes and we wont get embarrassed tomorrow.

RT @TimBontemps: Nets were the only one of 10 NBA teams over .600 winning percentage without an All-Star.

eLone ‏@eLonePB
Of all the Top 10 PER players in the league, only 2 did not make the All Star Game. Both play for Brooklyn.

Total BS that no one from our team got it. Bosh/Deng over Lopez? Turribble...!!!

It matters to me about Lopez.

The dude gets nothing but hate from every other teams fans that go on about his rebound numbers, defence and being soft.

The man is a lock top 5 center in the NBA at 24 years old, I personally believe he has been the best center in the NBA this season.

It's a joke and pisses me right off

Devin freaking Harris made the All-Star Team in 2009 for a pretty BAD Nets team by playing off Vince Carter but our best play on a pretty good Nets Team doesn't ...

We need an animated GIF:

Why didn't Brook make it?
Because of Avery
He didn't do anything wrong.
Because he's the All-Star Brooklyn deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we'll ignore him. Because he can take it. Because he's not our All Star. He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector. A Brooklyn Knight.

That would hilarious. PJ coaches the team because his has the best record in the East, none of his players make it. Great gif BTW, perfect!
