Last time harden and parsons destroyed us getting into the lane at will. i dont see how or why that would change.

Last game asik dominated us.....ON OFFENSE. not sure that changes either. maybe blatche steals more minutes from lopez?

either way, their offense is clicking and our defense sucks

James Harden went off for 46 against a very stout Thunder defense the other night. I can't imagine what he's going to do tonight while penetrating the lane where the Nets defenders lag off more often than not.

The PnR by Houston will be brutal to watch. I say Joe & Deron keep it close though. Nets by 5 to keep the winning streak going. :D
OKC Thunder fan, too.

At least this should be an entertaining game.

Im still suffering from the post trade line hangover.

Bogans is going to have to play well tonight defensively vs Harden for us to have a chance

Billy King says Joe Johnson won't play tonight because of plantar fasciitis.

Joe Johnson was at shootaround this morning but left before media availability.

This morning Nets pr said Johnson was at shootaround and nothing was wrong with him.

I wish JJ was there to make Harden work on defense but his loss isn't too big of a blow. Deron SHOULD step it up and so should Brook after his terrible performance against Sanders. I have no problem starting Keith Bogans - he's proven to play well with the starters and will at least make Harden work a bit. The key is going to be stopping Harden off the pick and roll (not fouling him 15 times) and stopping the roll man from getting easy buckets (Asik went 9 for 12 last time).

This should be a good test. After trading away Patterson and Morris, they've decided to go small with Parsons at the 4. That means the floor is going to be spread out and Evans should be glued to the bench. Hopefully it encourage PJ to match Bogans with Harden and keep Crash playing the 4. I'm not sure we can match up with such a quick team but I hope Deron brings it. They turn TOs into layups and 3s REALLY fast.

They really aren't that good of a team, we just don't play well against teams like this. I want this win bad.

im worried about asik as well. he had a big offensive game and had his way with lopez last time. and defensively he can lock brook down. brook needs to not be intimidated like he was last game.

also, i want reggie/hump playing big minutes. we arent going to beat them by matching them going small. our only change is to go big and outrebound them and crush it on the offensive glass. going small we are going to be playing their game and we will be much worse at it.

im hoping we also go to alot of zone. cuts down penetration and id rather have harden shooting 3's

I remember seeing Joe come up limping a bit at one point last game. His foot got caught.

I do somewhat agree with you on going big and generally out-muscling them. I'd be more than happy to do that with Hump since he can actually make a team pay for mistakes. Hump could actually post up Parsons + score off cuts/open jumpers since Parsons probably isn't used to making PF rotations. I think I've soured on Reggie and there's no going back. I really don't want him starting ever or playing more than 20 minutes.

Good call on the zone. I expect more zone than usual to slow down Harden. It worked really well on stopping Jennings from getting to the lane. Only worry is that the Rockets normally play 4 shooters and they all move the ball well. That's a recipe for disaster against zone. It might be necessary to slow down Harden though.

With JJ out Marshon should start. We need to replace JJ's scoring and Bogans just doesnt do it. Brooks should get his chance to shine tonight and with this likely being a fast paced, high scoring game I think he will.

i dont think we can start brooks... he makes terrible decisions and we cant give the rockets easy buckets or allow harden to get going in transition. we also cant afford to have brooks gaurding harden... we need bogans gaurding him.

We should start:

Dwill/Bogans/Wallace/Evans(not my choice but we know its happening)/Lopez

then id bring Taylor and CJ in at the 2 gaurd spots as backups. I liked them togther against the pacers. qualtiy defensive lineup and taylor really brings some energy. Id like to see toko get some minutes backing up the 3

I checked the standings last night and I don't think we have noticed how good this team has been.

25-11 - We have the best conference record in the east. 9-3 against the Atlantic division, 13-12 on the road,

Yeah, seeing as how Marshon gets inconsistent minutes. I'd be really surprised if he starts. I'm fine with Bogans starting over him.

No way PJ is dumb enough to start Brooks on harden or Lin. Bogans should and will start.

It is just so hard to find comfort in that when our splits against sub .500 teams and teams over .500 is such a wide margin. even just taking eastern conference games:

25-11 vs the east.

7 wins combined between toronto and orlando alone.

17-3 vs. teams under .500

8-8 vs. teams .500 or better
