Crash Rules Everything Around Me

Post#1 » by therealbig3 » Tue Feb 26, 2013 11:10 am

Should we just roll with Bogans as the starting 3, and have Wallace come in as the 6th man?

He's such trash right now...he can't shoot, he can't finish inside, and he's not playing good defense. He's a walking injury waiting to happen.

Bogans has been the better defender and shooter this year, and the other starters seem to play better with him on the court than Wallace (probably because of spacing).

I really think that moreso than Evans, Wallace should be benched...the spacing with him on the court is such crap...teams dare him to shoot, and he gladly obliges.

I think the starting lineup should be:

Deron
JJ
Bogans
Tele
Lopez

With Watson, Wallace, Taylor, Evans, Blatche, maybe Hump, and maybe Brooks getting some burn off the bench. Something needs to change in the rotation, that's for sure. It's hilarious that we can't score when we have Deron, JJ, and Lopez. We should be getting 50+ points at least from those 3 alone every night.

This is what is so frustrating right now.... From 2 angles... We have doubled our wins from last year.... (massive improvement) But we have quadrupled our salary... We have 2 ( I can't call them bruisers) But lets call them rebound first and score second kinda guy's in Hump and Evans... And a pure scorer in Teletovic.... I would rather see Tele get 24 mins... and hump and Evans share the rest... I don't care who starts.....

Sorry for the rant... But to answer your question... With Tele getting more minutes it would spread the floor better allowing Wallce to do his thing...... I say no.... But thats just my scenario....

Doesn't matter what happens this ball club ain't playing to it's strengths.....

Or being coached that way.... :(

Wallace just shouldn't be playing any minutes alongside Evans. Wallace is a slasher (albeit a mediocre one) that can't drive because he has four guys clogging up the lanes at all times. He needs to either play next to Teletovic or play more PF.

I know I'm nearly alone in holding this opinion, but I'm convinced that there is no way in hell a player can drop off so drastically from one year to the next. Wallace didn't suddenly forget how to drive, finish, and work face-up in the post. No way.

I think it's (1) he's not used to being the 4th option on a team and (2) he's not used to working with such poor spacing.

He's pretty much somewhere between the 4th and 8th worst contract in the league. Thanks Billy!

What ever happened to Gerald Wallace ?

I think Reggie Evans happened...Can't have two "crashes" crashing at the same time...One crash will always get crushed.

Pretty sure he is permed there. I've been banned for like months too now, I'm not sure if its permanent or just a really long ban. ND staff has been on a power trip lately, handing out bans like its nothing. A lot of good posters are gone from there now.

I really appreciate what NI does to run the NetsDaily site, in terms of reporting and coverage. But he has some severe issues as a person, lol.

I cringed at the resigning of Humphries...understanding it was just to try to get Dwight. And I cringe when Evans and/or Wallace is on the floor. We will not win a playoff series. PJ and Billy needs to go. They don't get it! Evans should never ever see one minute on the floor unless there's game suspension for a two of our bigs. Wallace should come off the bench. He's garbage. Can't shoot..can't finish....can't defend. That Kobe chrunch-time dunk says it all.

This. Play Wallace next to Bogans at PF or play him next to Teletovic at SF

Quite honestly, from the quotes I've heard from Gerald. He's just complacent. That Indiana game, he was attacking at will and scoring. Ever since then, he's disappeared.

I really think he took the whole "I need to be the defensive stopper only" thing and stopped thinking about shooting, driving, etc.

He averages the same shots at the rim as last year in Portland/New Jersey, so the whole "decline" thing is very overrated. Seems more like a mental thing. The Spurs game they left him wide open, he said it was his fault they lost and he shot 42% from 3 in the next 3 games.

It's complacency and the fact, he bought into the defensive player only mindset.

1) Andrew Bynum's new contract.
2) Andrea Bargnani's contract.
3) STAT's contract. (Not because of length or even money anymore, but simply because it's not insured.)
4) Joe Johnson's contract. (Just way too much money.)
5) Deron Williams contract. (Unless he improves, this is going to be bad years 3-5.)
6) Gerald Wallace's contract.
7) Josh Smith's new contract. (I don't believe he'll get a max, but it'll still be bad.)
8) Tyrus Thomas's contract.

Nets are on top! Nice.

He should be at the PF position. His pick and roll defense was fantastic against the Bucks, he was the reason why we won that game getting two to three key steals but of course, PJ doesn't even attempt to go back to that lineup. He needs floor spacing to attack the rim or cut to the basket which he doesn't get with Reggie in the starting lineup.

Deron, JJ, Bogans, Wallace, Lopez. See what happens and if it doesn't work by the 6 minute mark, put in Kris or Tele.......or Evans....
