Stackhouse to get minutes in the playoffs

ND/Bondy:
Jerry Stackhouse hasn't played since January 26, the result of an "organization decision" to give MarShon Brooks more of an opportunity, reports Stefan Bondy. Somewhat oddly, he was inactive on Sunday at home, the official reason being "rest." Then, he didn't travel to New Orleans for "personal reasons."

Does that mean he's done? Not at all, P.J. Carlesimo tells Bondy. He's hoping to see more of Stackhouse in the playoffs. Said the Nets coach...

"Stack helped us strongly win some games early in the year, and I think the potential is there. Especially if we’re fortunate enough to make the playoffs, I think his experience becomes something that’s more valuable. So yeah, that’s something we need to define better than we are now."

The dropoff has been stark, as Bondy reports:. Stackhouse was averaging 18 minutes through his first 14 games, and even played 30 minutes in a 117-111 loss to the Thunder. His highlight was a 17-point effort in a victory over the Celtics on Dec. 28. He has had some knee soreness which was one reason for his lack of minutes, but it was more about freeing time for younger players.

He's 40 freaking years old, what potential is there for him to have? This is a disgraceful situation. No joke. We have a coach that is going to give an old scrub playing time in the playoffs because he has an attitude a young player is getting an opportunity over him.

Oh and notice he says "Forunate enough to make the playoffs" We have 34 wins and are 1.5 games back of winning our division. Why the hell wouldn't we not make the playoffs unless you simply don't want us too.

Better than Marshon if his legs hold up. I know thats a big if but he could help for ~10-15 minutes max if he hits his shots. I don't like PJ but Stackhouse as 9th-10th man is fine with me .

I wouldn't take seriously anything PJ says...This coach of ours makes it up as he goes along.

Billy must have sat him down and forced him to play Marshon, to PJ's dismay.

Now only if someone will set him down and just have him set his rotations correctly.

So PJ plans on not even having a set rotation by the playoffs, cool.

I wonder if Lopez will crack 30 minutes in the playoffs.

If his legs are underneath him and he can hit corner threes anything close to what he was, he's a better option than MarShon for a few minutes to spell Joe.

i dont get why everyone is so pissed lopez only plays 30 mintues. we are sunk without him and he is coming off a major injury. protecting your best young asset who you are heavily invested in money and years wise is fine by me
