Most important free agent is Blatche. With him were a top 5 team in the league. Without himn were about 15th.
Now with that said considering Kidd has just retired I imagine he has alota friends and alota guy grew up watching him as there favorite player like Deron Williams.
I gotta think this will help with free agents or am I being to optimistic here? Im a huge homer so sometimes I need to wake up

As a Celtic fan, i'm no Nets homer, but I think your right.

Think Blatche will resign with you guys & obviously you guys want him. You guys know more than me but he seemed to really appreciate an actual franchise to be a part of & not that old tutor time that was being ran in Washington at that time.

I think Kidd will as coach will be intriguing for a lot of FA's. Now you guys are like 456789million over the cap so what kind of realistic FA's you can afford is another story. You guys can't do S&T's either so I don't think you gonna have anyone realistically coming in that's a starter material you know?

But if you draft Dieng or Whitney & go Lopez Evans Blatche Whitney & sign a vet SF or PG, than you can just trade Hump & your 1st for whatever positions are left to be filled. Seems like a pretty damn good team again.

Kevin Durant gave a thumbs up.

Why would he do that for ?

Kidd is admired around the NBA...Some guys just have it...and some don't.

A lot of current players look up to Kidd. If Kidd proves to be the real deal as a HC and we are able to eventually shed the dead weight that we have in our roster, I think it will certainly help attract FAs here. Durant has already expressed what he thinks Kidd will do as a coach. Kyrie Irving has too.

Still, its professional sports...so its still about the money and winning. If all opportunities as far as those are roughly equal...then Brooklyn, strength of ownership, and a leader like Kidd can tip things in our favor.

what a completely moronic statement. having blatche or not makes a minor difference. obviously it would be great to have us back. but the difference between us being a top 5 team or a lottery team based on him is just an idiotic statement blatches mom wouldnt even make

I agree. If we ever get to a point where we have legit cap space and Kidd is here...it will help. If we get that far...it means Kidd has done a good job...or rather it will give him credibility as a coach.

Its not just that he is liked and respected. Its that those attributes will almost certainly translate to him being viewed as a player's coach. Time will tell if that is good for us on the court...but players LIKE that way more than the Scott Skiles approach.

He really over reached there of course. But...having Blatche back or not I think is more than "it would be nice". I think its a major blow if we lose him.

Adding Kidd will certainly have an effect on who we add this off-season in terms of veterans or seasoned players. Kidd's recruiting could either land us a Prigoni type veteran PG or a Nate Robinson.

Remains to be seen if he could attract the big fish but If we have success this year and outdo ourselves in the regular season, he will be looked at as the reason which will only drive up the interest and create another addition to the list of ways we could attract big free agents in future years.

I agree on the future aspect. But given that all we have to offer this summer is vets minimum (assuming we bring over the other Euro with out exception) I think we are going to have to get in line behind the contender teams for the low level guys. When money is even players are what attract other players. They look at who gives them the best chance to win. Then weather and other factors.

The rich will get richer. See Ray Allen last summer.
