Only a matter of time until the fire sale in Boston happens and Billy is right on top of it.

If we can do HBAP for KG I'd be all for it since it essentially solves our PF problem. I can't take anymore Evans at the 4 and, to me, Blatche is a 5. If we can ship Wallace for one of the contracts they want to unload then I'm all for it as well.

Huge question would be if Ainge would to a trade in-division.

C's fan here. I think HBAP would be a fair deal for KG if we got to unload Terry or Bass in the deal too (which would require more salary from the Nets end - maybe Teletovic or some of the second round contract guys).

I think we'd be crazy to take on Wallace though. We already have a swing forward in Jeff Green locked up at substantial money (not to mention Pierce in the unlikely event we keep him), and Wallace is about to turn 31, coming off a horrible year and makes $30+ mil. He's a worse contract than anyone on our roster (unless Green's heart flares up again).

And I don't think Ainge has a problem trading in the division. We traded for Nate Robinson from NY a few years ago and would have traded Pierce for the package you guys sent out for Wallace.

this isnt a huge question or even consideration in my opinion. its obvious. of course he would trade in-division. the nets are in win now mode and KG is a win now piece. the celtics arent in win now mode. if anything giving the nets KG hurts them in 2-3 years when the celtics might be good again

You can have Bogans for 5 mil more as a S&T Which will definitely do the trick. I like Terry. I just think the C's misused him. They try to make a him a spot up shooter which i don't think he is.

Hi Celtics fan here.

Would you consider getting Boozer and Terry instead of KG ?

BOS gets: Humphries,Teletovic,Brooks,Hamilton,BKN 1st in '16 unprotected, CHA pick from bulls

BKN gets: Boozer,Terry

CHI gets: KG,Lee

Boston: gets expirings (hump, hamilton, brooks) ,picks and one meh player (teletovic).

Brooklyn: Upgrades roster, both Terry and Kidd are friends and Kidd knows how to use Terry. Boozer is huge upgrade from Humphries.

Chicago: They are paying the CHA pick to get rid of Boozer and getting KG. And getting Lee for Hamilton.

P.S i'm not buying that KG would play for the Nets (no disrespect) but I don't see him playing for Kidd, but a more established coach like Thibs.

No offense, but I think that's seriously overestimating what KG is worth. He's 37 with 2 years left on his contract, and he could easily just retire after next year, leaving the team he's going to with nothing. He's no longer a superstar, he can no longer play heavy minutes, and he's going to miss some time every regular season. And for that, you want massive expiring contracts, excellent draft picks (we could very well hit the lottery in 2016 if KG retires after 2015, while Wallace, JJ, and even D-Will decline), and a talented prospect (Teletovic).

That's an incredible asking price for KG at this point in his career imo, especially if you're also going to be unloading Terry.

I mean, the Clippers were only offering Deandre Jordan and a crappy 1st rounder, and that deal almost went through.

I can agree to make a sign and trade for Bogans and leave Teletovic with the Nets. But in this case i'm not sure Ainge pays him 5M$, would rather pay Terry that money.

As for the '16 pick, you're a big market team I doubt you Guys will be a lottery team or tank, in '15 Kevin Love is unrestricted. And many free agents would go to Brooklyn/NY.

I can agree if there's a light protection on the pick like top 5 protected.

I suggested you Guys take Boozer and not KG.

Chicago on their end would have to pay the CHA pick to unload Boozer and get KG. Lee is sent there if they would like to get rid of Hamilton, otherwise they can just buy him out themselves or get Terry who has a shorter contract.

i dont see why celtics wouldn't trade in division, if they're planning to tank anyway it would help them to make the nets better lol

So, in this deal we would help Chicago and Boston but get back Boozer who is a marginal upgrade.

No thanks.

not a chance. if we arent getting KG we can just trade with chicago, get boozer, and not have to take on terry.

i doubt it would have a ton to do with the coach. more to do with a chance to contend.

See, this conversation is ridiculous. It is all based on the speculation that KG wants to go to Chicago and not us. Everyone can make their offer to Boston...and not Nets fans, Boston fans, Bulls, or the execs of any of their teams matter. KG himself holds all the power here with that NT.

If KG has interest in coming here...and Boston is ready to unload his contract...it will get done.

I think that experienced coach thing was as absurd as saying...no offense but I hear he likes Chicago pizza more than NY pizza. Unless KG told you...SCREW J.Kidd he once spit on my Mom...you are just talking yourself into angles because you think there is a chance for you to get more out of the deal.

So the real thing is this. We want KG. We have less interest in Boozer. If KG is interested...no other angles need be explored. If he isnt...sure we can move onto that when the time comes.

And, I am fine giving Boston all but a pick years from now. You can have this year's pick. We can give you Marshon or try to turn him into a 2nd pick. You can have Mirza or another Euro stash. And if we can make the salaries work to absorb Terry or Bass...no problem. I would do that to. And you can have 3mil in cash towards Pierce's buyout if KG says...he isnt waving the NT for anyone unless Pierce comes with him. Then Pierce can have our MMLE.

That is a huge haul for a 37 year old...and honestly...I can see our team giving up most of it because that is Billy King. But...truth be told...I would feel better about giving up the Euro swingmen if I knew Pierce was coming as well by way of buyout and MMLE.

If he is...you can have it all. And I bet that beats any offer anyone makes for both guys. And notice I didnt try to force Crash 3 years 30mil on you? Because while I would love to see you take that deal...that isnt realistic for a rebuilding team. So we turn into the biggest payroll joke ever....you get to dump like 35mil im total payroll commitments, grab some picks and prospects along the way. And I know as a fan you could care less about the cash...but NBA teams DO. And that has to be considered if you want to evaluate trades fairly.

I think KG and Terry for Hump, Teletovic, brooks and '13 pick is a no brainer for us.

^^^Plus...Bogdonovic, Bogan 1 yr S&T...whatever. we are built to do whatever we are going to do right now. Most likely...we fall short. But that is how we are built..worth seeing it through as long as ownership has no max budget for payroll.

exactly... the only way to mess up a KG trade would be to lowball and not get a trade done. we cant overpay for KG. its impossible, we dont have the assets to do it.

Why would Boston take Crash? Three non-lotto picks are not bad for them, but I'm skeptical they would do it.

JJ & Pierce are a little redundant, but it's a move you would have to make. Surprised Boston wouldn't rather just send out Terry in the KG deal and ship Pierce elsewhere.

I wouldnt rule out terry being involved, we would be able to absorb him in the deal if wallace was invovled:

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=oe3w6xy

Nets Get:
Garnett
Pierce
Terry

Celtics Get:
Kris Humphries
Gerald Wallace
Toko Shenglia
#22, 2014, 2016

Dwill | Taylor
JJ | Bogdanovic
Pierce |
KG | Evans
Lopez | Blatche

IF we move brooks for the #26 we could add a backup SF.

would be jacked if this somehow worked out
