PP contract question...

I think pp is a free agent after this season. Being we gave up a ton to get him and kg here, what's the most prok can give him after the season? Just mid level exception? Mini mid level?

Could give up to a max since the Nets would have bird rights on him.

I'd give Pierce a 2-year deal after this year if he proves he can still play well. That would take us right up to the 2016 offseason with a competitive team throughout, so the 2016 pick that we send to Boston won't hurt us, and we can re-tool in 2016 free agency.

Lifelong fan of the Celtics & very very very recent fan of the "Paul Pierce" Nets here. Please see my "Ode To Paul Pierce" thread on Nets board a couple of weeks ago if you wish.

Truth is a free agent in 1 year.

EVEN at age 35, he is STILL a stud &, after Bron, KD & Melo, arguably the fourth best SF in the NBA. His numbers after Rondo went down last year/after the ASG were freaking AWESOME & as good as "newly minted All Pro" youngin Paul George. Truth scored 19+ ppg with PER off the charts, 48+% overall FG%, 42-43% from 3, multiple Trip Dubs, 6 RPG & 5 APG. He broke down in the POs vs the KnUcks cause his pinched cervical nerve flared & he was asked to be the PG in addition to the primary scorer at an advanced Bball age.

You guys are going to be TOTALLY thrilled by what this locked in future HOFER, champion, & arguably Top 30 NBA player of all time (who is currently #20 on the all time NBA scoring list with >24K points & rising fast) can STILL bring!!!

Prok, who appears to have truly infinite $$$!, will end up signing him for 2 years in June 2014 for AT LEAST the MLE - second year Team Option.

The "Paul Pierce/Brooklyn" Nets are winning a mother **** banner in June 2014!!!!!! People in NYC will forget that the KnUcks even exist.

PS KG has much less left than Paul, but he will do absolute wonders for your D, & Lopez, if he is wise, should learn as much as he can from him. KG will probably only play 1 more year.

I believe KG has two more years left on his contract...This year and next year (12 Million).

Do you believe KG will walk away after this season ?

Yup. Injuries will continue to catch up with him. He will have had a truly phenomenal 19 year career.

I'm pretty sure it's not guaranteed & i think he might retire too. If i had to bet, i'd say this is his last year.

Actually, KG made sure that Nets fully guarantee his salary for 14-15 before waiving his no trade clause.

Yep...I remember reading that too...As long as Garnett is healthy and happy, I would think he would want to play 20 years in the NBA.

Yep, Bird Rights are transferred through trade.
