Good move. If we're healthy he probably won't play much, but we could use another body on the wings, especially if we do have to deal with injuries. How much is this going to cost Proky in tax? Even a move like this is something other owners wouldn't do for such a minor player.

Good. Terry at 6'2 can't be the only guard behind JJ in a playoff series against the likes of Wade, George, etc.

I'm surprised it's a 2 year deal.

2nd year is a player option. Alan's agent probably wanted it, and that 2nd year doesn't really matter for the Nets in terms of anything but luxury tax.

Nice, I was calling for his signing over the past few weeks. It makes sense now that we don't know what's going to happen with Toko... I still say let him rehab and send him, along with Taylor, down to the D League for the entire season (or when absolutely needed). Let Terry get minutes at either guard spot now, since Terry at 94 years old is better than Taylor now.

Hopefully his percentages on the perimeter from last season improve when he gets better looks and his minutes are limited.

You guys are spending way too much money... I think you have the highest salary in the league.

The New York Yankees that have won 27 championships and are one of, if not the biggest brand in sports? Ew I wouldn't want my team to have that distinction.

He was relied upon way too much last season, which is why I think his numbers were pretty pedestrian.

He played 23mpg but had a USG% of 23.6.

Out of players who played 20 or more mpg last season, he had a higher USG% than Paul George (23.5%), David Lee (23.2%), Chris Bosh (22.7%), CP3 (22.6%), and others.

In the 2011-12 season, he played more mpg (27.1) but had a lower USG% of 18.6%. In that season, he averaged 1.9 3FG/4.8 3FGA (.387) per game.

For a reserve player who will be playing alongside of Terry, Blatche, AK, his usage rate will be pretty low, he should see less defensive attention, and I think his 3pt % rise closer to what it was in 11-12 season.

If he comes in and just bombs 3s at a 37% clip, that's fine with me. If he gets to his 11-12 mark of 38.7%, that's even better.

Congrats on signing Alan Chuckerson...
So relieved he's not on the Raps for the upcoming year. Him getting minutes over Terrence Ross made me want to throw a ball through the wall.
Lucky you guys are still really good and can deal with a few chucks here and there. (Don't get me wrong, he'll have games where he hits everything...but the poor chucking games will very much outweigh his great shooting performances).

Team salary rankings for NBA championship teams since 06-07
06-07 - Spurs - #8
07-08 - Celtics - #5
08-09 - Lakers - #5
09-10 - Lakers - #1
10-11 - Mavs - #3
11-12 - Heat - #5
12-13 - Heat - #3

Within the last 6 seasons, all championship teams have ranked in the top 5 for team salary.

While I'm not saying the more money you spend, the more you'll win, it is quite clear that the teams that end up winning have spent money..

It all depends if your money is well spent. In our case, we believe that the money has been spent well (save for Joe Johnson).

We signed him to play 30-35mpg so his tendency to chuck will definitely be a concern.

We're really hoping that Joe Johnson and Jason Terry can step up and play at least 10mpg so that we don't have to watch Anderson take 25 shots per game.

Guys, he's right. What are we doing? Listen, let's all write some letters to the NBA and get the league to either move or contract this franchise as soon as possible. This madness can't simply go on any longer! What the hell are we doing trying to be the Yankees of the NBA, a franchise that won 27 championships and one of the greatest organizations in all of sports.

Why are we trying to do that?

The more players the Nets sign, the more idiots who don't have a clue about the team want to chime in with their moronic takes. Here's another shining example of stupidity.

Prokhorov doesn't give a ****, and neither should you.

Yeah, we can only pray that Joe Johnson, Jason Terry, and Paul Pierce don't get benched anytime soon.

What a dolt.

I think I rather have had that open spot for flexibility rather than sign an average guy with no upside.

Just gotta hope if the Nets find anything good, the other team will be sending less people. Besides, I don't see any starter being traded and everyone on the bench outside of Terry, Mirza, and AK makes the minimum or are on rookie contracts so the Nets will likely be the ones adding players in a trade for a bigger contract.

If he's good defensively then I like the signing. We don't really need any more scorers.

He plays solid defense. Also 37% from right corner and 40% from left. Should get better looks now.

I thought the Nets would sign a guy with solid PG skills, but i guess they figure Terry can cover that (though he's not a very good PG), if necessary.

going another route, i agree this is a good 21th man on the rotation signing. anderson has some very good defensive skills, can hit the open 3, and can post up at the 2, and can cover the 3.

well that's your team. how you like it?
