Hi I will be in New York in October and was wondering what are my chances of getting a ticket to a Nets game.
I would like to see the preseason game vs Detroit on 12 October.

Will probably be really easy to get tickets to a preseason game.

Yeah, it should be super easy to get preseason tickets. Check the Nets website or StubHub.
If anyone wants to go to the preseason games against MIA, hit me up.

As you may have read in my "Ode to Paul Pierce" thread on the Nets Board, in late June, I have always been, still am & will always be a Celtic fan. However, as of 7/10/13, I will also be a fan of the "Paul Pierce Nets" (until Paul retires).
Can you hook me up with tickets during the regular season for various games? Or should I use StubHub?
I am a physician living in DC, but I plan to Amtrak to NYC frequently to see games at Barclay's with one or both of my 2 daughters (who live in Fort Green & Williamsburg, respectively) or my nephews (who live in Manhattan).

Stubhub currently only sells season tickets. I'm sure when the schedule releases, you'll see a bit more individual games.

Sure.
I know a couple of guys who want to go to some games, but just let me know which ones you're interested in seeing and I'll see what I can do.
Also, I'd never try to rip off my fellow Nets fans so if you find great prices for some games on StubHub, I'll try my best to let you know ahead of time.
(They've delayed the release of the schedule to early August so I haven't received my book of tickets yet.)

WARNING: ONCE A NETS FAN...ALWAYS A NETS FAN. You can check in but you can never check out. I've been trying for years to quit being a Nets fan with little success...Consider yourself warned.

That does seem to be true... I was a huge Vince Carter fan and joined the Nets ranks when he did, but never left... Even after Vince did.

Ha ha. Sounds like Henley's 'Hotel California.'
I have been a Celtic fan since my childhood - multiple decades. The Celtics are embedded in my psyche.
It is the third greatest Celtic of all time, Paul Pierce, who has recently led me to the shores of "Lake Brooklyn", & given me 2 teams to cheer on. When Paul retires, hopefully after a banner (his second, the Nets first), I will bid you guys a fond farewell. :0)
PS I actually was raised in Manhattan, but left NYC at age 17 for college in MA. Even back in the day, I absolutely hated the KnUcks. This is all very new for me.

exculpatory,
we have talked many times I didnt know you was raised in NYC. What college did you go to in Mass?I visit Mass not as often as i used to. I used to go a lot since my friends went to college up there when I went to UCONN. I am a UCONN grad. Why didnt you like the Knicks specifically the late 60's eaerly 70's knicks? That was a good brand of basketball that was played back then.
Since you are a Mid Atlantic-New England fan now, where do you see the Celtics going from here and how would you rank the East thing coming year as far as teams?

I am a temporary Nets fan until Paul retires. I will always be a Celtic fan.
I went to Number 9 on the Forbes list in the link below.
http://www.forbes.com/top-colleges/list/My entire family rooted for the Knicks back in the day. I just went against the grain. :0). I was a Celtic fan as a kid even before I left for MA.
This year is key for Rondo. He is 27/28 & entering his prime. Will he be a stud without Paul & KG for the first time? I don't know. We will finally find out if he is the real real deal or is vastly overhyped because he is an "exciting" player. As a Celtic fan, I hope they crash & burn as opposed to squeezing out an 8 seed & a first round exit. I want Wiggins or Parker.
Paul will 'majorly' help lead the Nets to a banner! Heat, Nets, Pacers, Bulls in that order. Knicks may or may not place 5th. All of Nets, Pacers, & Bulls will seriously challenge the Heat. I think Wade will continue to manifest recurrent injuries & decline. The Heat will start to resemble the Bron Cavaliers.

StubHub is slowly putting up individual games. Nets have said they will be selling individual game tickets next month.
