An explosive Croatia came out of the locker rooms after the interval and scored 18 points in the first 4:51 of action in the third, as Bojan Bogdanovic and Krunoslav Simon drilled two three-pointers apiece, to turn a 36-31 deficit into a 49-43 lead.

Bogdanovic finished with 18 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals 1 block on 40% FG shooting, 66% 3PT shooting and showing his defense is improving, holding his man (Bellineli) to 3-7 shooting when guarded by him in today's game. *Insert Joe Johnson joke here*
His numbers in the EuroBasket in total 16.9ppg, 4.7 rebs per game, 1.0 asts per game on 42% FG, 47%.6 two point shooting and 34% three point shooting. Ranked #9 in EuroBasket scoring.

He hasn't signed an extension with Fenerbache Ulker apparently (not yet anyways) which means his buyout should be lower. The Nets could sign him next summer.

Happy to see him improve his game this summer (apparently he has played solid defense) and he is the best player on his team who are doing really well atm. Also, his game should get to a new level this year on club level as Fenerbahce got one of the best European coaches now. Hopefully he doesn't **** things up by signing an extension with Fenerbahce with a difficult NBA out situation.

Not 100% sure but I believe he is on a one year deal right now, wouldn't surprise me if he inked an extension at some point just for his own security.

The problem I see with both Bogdanovic and Teletovic is that they need to have the ball to be effective.
They are both used to being the "man" on their teams and I doubt that will happen with the Nets anytime soon.
I will be curious to see how many minutes Teletovic gets this season.

Which I think will be fine for Bogs by the time he comes here as JJ will be on his way out and PP may or may not be here. Mirza though, I agree. Ideally we need him to be a stretch 4 type just waiting for the pass, but instead I think he is better with the ball, being a featured player.

yea.... i think much more so the "needing to be the man" part then the needing to have the ball part, but i agree on both.
teletovic especially, watching him as a role player vs. his videos from euro play, its like 2 different guys and 2 different mindsets. i think he needs a large volume of touchs/high usage to really be the player he should here.
hopefully we can get something decent for both via trade. i dont think they have a future here unforutnetly.

Yes, but he's still on the way downhill.

idk, he is in great shape, and his game translates well longevity wise. he relies on strength/size/skill more then athleticism and speed. i cant see his game depreciating much at ages 33,34,35

Agree.. but I don't see why he and Bogs couldn't coexist. If JJ and PP can coexist well this season, I would have even more faith in their pairing later on.

It also depends on when Bogs comes over and how ready he is.
By the time he's here and adjusted, JJ might be in his final season.

Bogdanovic hasn't signed a new deal but Obradovic, (Euro Phil Jackson) is pushing to keep him.
If Bogdanovic doesn't sign a new deal he is a free agent next summer when he can walk to Brooklyn or even Barcelona, Real Madrid or CSKA Moscow so we'd be in a real battle for his signature.
I believe it would be in the best interests if both Bogdanovic and Fenerbahce to sign Bogdanovic to a more lucrative contract with an NBA out every summer for $600k or something like that. That would mean Fenerbahce eliminate the chance Bogdanovic would be able to sign with a euro rival so that he either plays for Fener or moves to Brooklyn while Fener get some cash for his services from Brooklyn. That would be a win win all around as far as I'm concerned.
If a new deal is signed, it's not necessarily bad news, the secret is if they is a NBA out or not and more importantly what price the buyout is.
I'm hoping we get Bogdanovic over to Brooklyn next summer, probably to replace Kirilenko who will sign a more lucrative deal next summer.
Give Pierce a nice 1 year deal to give KG & Pierce a 2 year Brooklyn window. Let both retire in the summer of 2015 when Brooklyn should get below the tax threshold to eliminate the repeater tax & enable Brooklyn to be able to make sign & trade deals, ready for a reload of stud(s) in the summer of 2016.
Bogdanovic could be a very good cheap stop over who could be a NBA starter tied down through to 2017 on just over $3m per if he were to sign next summer.
Fingers crossed it happens.

Was just reading different articles on Eurobasket which I've been watching and smiling at Bogdanovic getting better and better with Croatia.
Anyway came across this article on SheridanHoops (
http://www.sheridanhoops.com/2013/09/18/eurobasket-13-top-10-things-learned-in-slovenia/ )
2. Euro Invasion Upcoming.
There are some great NBA talents that will be heading over from Europe in the next couple of years. Several players whose draft rights are currently held by NBA teams have given fans reasons to be excited for what they can bring in the future.
Bojan Bogdanovic (Brooklyn) has been fantastic for Croatia, emerging as their go-to guy, and knocking down big shot after big shot. Averaging 17.5 points per game, Bogdanovic should have Nets fans feeling a little bit more optimistic about their window as title contenders. Bogdanovic would have been a top 5 pick had he been in the draft this year, and he has the type of upside that could soften the blow when Paul Pierce decides to hang them up.
So that's another source that Bogdanovic is the equivalent of a lotto pick. He has been getting better and better. I love his off the ball game, drives and cuts to the basket. The kid can play.
Here's hoping he joins us next summer.

Wow, if true thats great... if teams really value him as a top 5 pick we could probably get something decent for him in return or maybe even swap him for a lotto pick allowing us to get younger

Yugobasket @yugobasket
Bojan Bogdanović won't renew his contract with Fenerbahce. Club wanted to sign a contract with € 2,000,000 buyout for #NBA. Player disagreed
This is the news we've been waiting for in regards Bogdanovic. This means Bogdanovic to Brooklyn next summer is on like donkey kong. It's a good scenario because Bogdanovic gets starter minutes under the best coach in Europe in Obradovic which will leave him a better player again by next summer.

This is pretty huge because depending on how this season goes and everyone returns. We could add Bogdanovic to an already established roster.
